Canad Inns Destination Centre Garden City

Everything was fine with the exception of a MILLION children. What’s up with that? Seems to be a common theme here. I mean I’m all for families but why are there kids playing hockey in the hallway? Literally weaving between my boyfriend and I while we’re trying to find our room? Screaming outside the doors? Mostly parents fault but clearly they think this is acceptable for some reason…keep the families on the lower floors and stick everyone else upstairs if this is the case because most childless people are exactly that for a REASON, lolIf you’re not a family of 7 i would suggest requesting a room ANYWHERE but the bottom 2 floors

Moved from the area so hadn’t been in for a couple of years. It was St Patrick’s Day and despite being packed, we were recognized and warmly greeted. The staff found the five of us a great spot on the bar top. The service and the food were spot on. Thanks to all!

Trying to arrange a wedding reception, they don't seem interested...UpdateAfter having the Wedding here, I have to say the We could not have chosen a better Venue!!! The room, decor and attention to detail was perfect! The food was nothing short of INCREDIBLE!!! Everything was done perfectly and so full of flavor, our guests are still raving!! Sheri, the event host and Banquet Manager was there from setup to clean up and was very accommodating. Imee worked hard to put the event together in a compressed timeline! I say this event was perfect and I have them to thank for it all!!

This was a terrible experience!The only positive thing I have to say is the Aaltos restaurant was very kind and gave us breakfast past breakfast time.We found a dirty sock in our room, my husband took it to the front desk and they told him to throw it out because there was no lost and found. Nothing about the fact that our room wasn’t cleaned properly.On our second night the fire alarm was pulled at 3 in the morning, I know this wasn’t the hotels fault but it was handled very poorly. The fire department seemed very annoyed with the way the staff handled it as well. And it was not fun for us with our 6 month old baby.On our third day we ordered food from the pub online, our credit card was charged and when I went to pick it up the door to the pub from inside the hotel was locked so I went outside to go in the front door and it turns out the pub was closed. I also got locked out of the door I came out of and had to walk all the way around to the front of the hotel in -30 degree weather without a jacket.Our room key stopped working 3 times, had it reset twice and then gave up.We aren’t checking out until tomorrow morning but I would not be surprised if something else went wrong.

On my 1st day I had to switch rooms, 1st was the smell, 2nd room the door would not lock when closed, 3rd room I stayed.Other than that the staff which will include the front desk , housekeeping and security were fantastic.There is no gym which I prefer at a hotel and no complimentary breakfast.I do have to say that the food at the hotel restaurant is really good, I will add more photos during my stay. They have a lunch & supper buffet on Friday (530-800PM). I attended the supper buffet $24 taxes incl. It is a great value for money.There is a pool with a waterslide.Close-by you have Superstore freshco, dollar store, value village and Giant Tiger.

When we checked in we got a surprise that we were upgraded to a suite at no extra charge because the hotel was super booked up. The front staff was amazing. The pool however had such a chlorine smell like it almost burnt your eyes when you walked into the pool area. The room was clean however you can start seeing the dating of the building in the bathroom. Rust was starting to form on the ceiling. The tub-surround was yellow. Could use some upgrades before the hotel goes downhill. All and all a great stay. We had event down the road and would possibly stay at this hotel again.

The hotel isn’t far off from a day care, I am currently spending two weeks booked here for my company and it is the loudest hotel I’ve EVER stayed in, the first floor is basically a running track for unsupervised children, you can hear the screams from the pool from many suites away and in the restaurant, I will refuse to stay at this location next time, very surprised considering how much my company spends there that they run it so unprofessionally. For people that work days and nights I wouldn’t expect this. Absolutely mind blown by the amount of kids constantly screaming and running down the hall ways.If it isn’t the children it’s the parents yelling with them, absolutely brutal.

The location is quite a drive from my place in Transcona. We were there for a birthday party(hall rental). Great service and good food. Friendly staff.

I stayed at canad inn Garden City in Winnipeg MB on may 27/28 for my son’s birthday party. The motor of the ventilation system for the pool area was not working and my kids got very sick, our eyes were watering kids were coughing and had to go outside for air, one of the boys threw up.I let the front desk know that we could no longer be in the area and something was VERY WRONG AND PEOPLE WERE SICK the staff ignored to problem and kept the pool open until closing time. (They checked the problem then next morning not even the night of) We were unable to go into the area again and we’re very disappointed as the pool was the only reason we booked. (For my son’s birthday)The hotel offered a refund the next morning but never followed through as I booked through a company through Expedia and the hotel couldn’t find and didn’t bother to find my reservation in order to refund. Long story short, Canad Inn does not take care of their patrons even when we got sick from staying there.They have not reached out once even after requesting and leaving voicemails for the GENERAL MANAGER. Also they knew we had to file a fraud claim, as well as Canad Inn kept my credit card on file for incidentals open for 3 weeks after the booking took place and was paid in full!!! Horrible service and place to stay!!! Gross customer service!!!

I booked a room at the front desk for Jan 14 2023. I booked this room in person at the front desk a week prior. I had the 9 person room booked for my daughter's 6th birthday so that I could invite a few friends to come swimming. I showed up and had everything for the party ready and people coming and when I showed up to check in I was told that there was no reservation under my name and all of the rooms were fully booked. My daughter and I both ended up leaving in tears. I had to call a bunch of people to tell them not to come. My daughter's birthday was ruined because the lady who helped me at the front desk didn't bother to save the reservation. This boggles my mind because she gave me a written confirmation number and took my credit card info. I was told a Manager would contact me about this which never happened. This is terrible customer service. I have never stayed at this hotel before, this would have been my first time. Never again will I book directly with any hotel. Will use a 3rd party site always from now on. I also won't be making the mistake of trying to book a party at this hotel ever again.
