Nice quiet lake with boat launches and fishing docks and trail around the lake

I’m looking for a place to launch my 12 ft sailing dinghy, (home built) to practice raising and lowering the sail and some other things before we put it in the ocean with the big boats.The boat ramp is long and very shallow making a launch from a trailer difficult.A great place to launch kayaks, SUP’s, and canoes.The park itself is beautiful, nice beach (no lifeguard), great trails, nice views…it can get VERY busy on hot summer days but was very quiet on this late September afternoon.

Beautiful lake! The walk around the lake is awesome.

Excellent City Park.The Centre Piece is a man-made lake with an approximately 6 km trail, which loops around the lake.This would rate as an easy hike. For the most part the trail is wide, level and well maintained. There are a few climbs and descents around the north-west end of the trail, however nothing too onerous.There are a good variety of trees and vegetation as you circle the lake as well as great views across the lake.In addition to the main trail there are many off-shoots offering opportunities to explore as well as dedicated mountain bike trails.If you are a hiker\walker looking for a good easy trail or want a small body of water to kayak, etc. this will be an excellent park for you.

Nice trail and good lake, the trail is long but isn’t difficult, me and my family walked it in about an hour and got a good walk by the water out of it. The water itself is nice and a good place to swim/paddle board or whatever. would recommend

This is my favourite swimming spot in all of Nanaimo. Absolutely beautiful!

This lake is generally ok. The only not so good part about this is the lack of people wanting to clean it. The lake (at times) can get really dirty. This lake does have a beautiful falling trail around it as well as a huge Forrest. This is a great place to go with family and take your kids for a summer day.

A perfect brisk one-hour walk around the lake. Mainly flat and well groomed. Great scenery including lake and local water fowl. Nice beach with swimming in the summer.

I love this lake a lot. There is so much nature around it. I go here to paddleboard after work or take a walk with my co-worker. If you are looking for somewhere to create connections with nature and others than this is the place. Bikers are allowed on the trails. There is a boat launch. Some picnic tables are there. I love the environment of everyone enjoying themselves here.
