I don’t know how I haven’t left a review yet! When I was young my family took our dog to this vet clinic so when I got my own pup 15 years ago I started taking her here. Dr. Sarah Wagner is amazing. The best vet I’ve ever been to- and I’ve been to a lot!! When I moved to a different part of the city I tried 3 other vet clinics but none were as attentive or took the time to explain or gave a variety of options.So I went back to Dr. Wagner and have never been disappointed. She always takes the time to explain what’s happening and asks if I have any questions. She doesn’t just push one option and lets you decide based on the information she can provide.We moved to Melfort and tried some vets out there as well, and a few vets in Prince Albert when we moved there but we always end up coming back to River Heights Animal Hospital. We’re currently travelling Canada and I had to call as one of my dogs swallowed an object and she was great as always. I was able to make an informed choice to wait to take my pup to the vet and see if she passes the object and know what signs to look for to know when I’d like to take her in if she still hasn’t passed it through.You won’t be disappointed bringing your pets here. They truly care and always follow up which is great!

We brought in a stray whole male (we adopted him) to be neutered. He only had one testicle that we could see. Rather than neutering him, they cut him open in two places and sent him home with us UN-neutered to recover to have an ultrasound at another Vet Clinic. They couldn’t find the other testicle. They hoped an ultrasound would tell them where the other testicle was.We did not consent to or authorize this exploratory surgery. They could have removed the one testicle they could see. Testicles are outside of the cat because they have be cool to be motile so any sperm inside of a male cat would’ve been useless anyway ! This unauthorized exploratory surgery cost us at least $700.00.Well, as luck would have it, Milo recovered and, immediately thereafter, three of our female cats went into heat, and Milo bred all three before we could stop him. If River Heights had neutered what they could see, no matings would have taken place. We are getting too old to syringe weaker kittens anymore. We couldn’t just let them starve! Maybe River Heights could take over that task for free? Little hint there!!River Heights *was* a great Veterinary Hospital.Now? Not so much. Too risky for us to trust them again.

We would like to say a huge thank you to Dr Begg for being such an amazing Vet. The compassion that she shows when she visits families on very dark, sad days is so comforting. We highly recommend her and her clinic for all your vet needs!

Extremely helpful. Reasonably price. Happy I was referred here. Other clinics had severely price gouged me and avoided check ups and vaccinations as a result. I was shocked how reasonably priced they were.

Great service from reception & the vet. They both were very accomodating to my not so sociable dog. I'll definitely be bringing her back here again.

Dr. Begg is my primary and I couldn't be more pleased. She is exceptionally caring and empathetic, yet professionally knowledge and informative. And my dog adores her. Brought in my senior cat the other day and was cared for by another vet, with Dr. Begg not available, who was gentle and his experienced hands made the process quick and stress free. Reception staff are always courteous and efficient. Highly recommend this clinic.

I have had really amazing experiences with Dr Wagner shes been great with all three of our dogs! However recently our female dog was pregnant (she had 9 puppies recently) and we wanted to get her checked out to see how many she was expecting and to make sure everything was ok as this was her very first litter. When i called to try and make an appointment the receptionist and the other vet i spoke to were a bit rude and very unhelpful. I will give props to Dr Wagner as she did try to call me and left a message to try and help me once she was back in office but i had already booked my dog in with Prairie Land Vet they were great to deal with and went above and beyond to help us and get my dog looked at. Might be switching vets permanently especially with nine growing puppies! If you do go to River Heights, I seriously recommend Dr Wagner.

We're fairly new clients but the Vets here are very knowledgeable and explain things well.
