Goose Island
The Canada Geese make their nests here every spring. The mink slink along the banks behind the island, and you can track them in the winter when the ice is thick.

Nice quite place beside the ermosa trail. However, the mosquitos in the woods are annoying:) carry bug spray if you plan to sit beside the river

Goose Island
There is a small island in the grand river, visible from the shore but too far away. For months we watched the geese land there, their honks forming cacophonous conspiracy. We wondered what they could be doing there. But the way was impassable. So we waited for the ice to make a path for us. In the dead of winter, under the watchful eye of the lingering geese we made the crossing. Now we know what lies on goose Island.
