Javier is a great teacher. Patient. Fun and engaging. He adjusted to my learning style and built up my confidence in only ten sessions. I started with zero ability and in five weeks became comfortable with basic phrases and things like asking for and giving directions.

Javier at SpanishTO is an excellent instructor. He is organized, encouraging and skilled at making his lessons interesting and enjoyable. The classes are small so everyone has lots of opportunity to practice speaking. He provides well designed support material to correspond with each lesson. I have done two levels with him and intend to continue. I can highly recommend SpanishTO to anyone looking for a good Spanish program.

I called SpanishTO and explained that I needed to learn Spanishto be able to converse and enjoy my stay in Spain. They accommodated my tight schedule and listened to my every request. They taught me what I needed to know for when staying in Spain and calibrated the course to fit my situation. They have also pointed me to the right direction in terms of learning more with and without their help. They have given me many references to go back to and to keep for myself to study. I really appreciate their effort and how they made learning spanish so simple and easy.

The Barlovento School is an excellent choice for conversational, professional Spanish lessons – I highly recommend the program for anyone looking to improve their Spanish in an effective, meaningful way. My instructor, Javier, was exceptional and was able to adeptly balance the more technical lesson components with an approach that also focused on practical conversation. The lessons were easily done through Zoom video and Javier was also able to move through lesson books, as well as real-time conversation and Q&A, via a digital whiteboard. Javier and Cara were also extremely flexible with my work schedule (which was often all over the place). They were quick to communicate by email and always understanding and flexible with rescheduling should I need it. I strongly recommend the package of 10 classes to start so that you can get a full feel for the course; with my first 10 complete, I’m looking forward to my next 10 in the New Year.

Javier is a great and supportive teacher. I really enjoyed his classes and appreciated his fun and practical approach to teaching Spanish. His enthusiasm for teaching and languages truly shows as his dedication made learning easy and his classes a pleasure to attend. I always left class knowing more as we often discussed current world events, which I learned so much from. Classes are welcoming and a positive environment that supports learning. I highly recommend his classes. I look forward to taking more with him.

Javier is a very good teacher and talks about great interesting topics. I often leave the class with more knowledge of the world. I will highly recommend him and the Spanish classes. The registration was also very flexible so it granted busy people to have more ease with their life. Thank you Javier and Cara!! :)

Great place and environment to learn in Spanish. Javier is both a great guy and a fantastic teacher with very intuitive and efficient teaching/learning methods. The class sizes are small as well, gives it a much more hands-on/one on one feel than a traditional classroom setting. I liked the fact that Javier places the most emphasis on conversation, which is what we all came for at the end of the day.Main drawback however is that it's quite pricey for just 5 lessons, but given the location this shouldn't be much of a surprise. Overall I found it to be a worthwhile investment and will definitely be returning for more classes in the future!

I enrolled in private tutoring to improve Spanish conversation skills with Javier and really enjoyed it. We covered topics that were relevant and interesting to me and my vocabulary improved very quickly. Javier also brought interesting articles and worksheets and recommended news apps to continue practicing on my own time outside of class.I would highly recommend Barlovento for Spanish tutoring at any ability level.
