Princess Auto

Terrible experience. Got sprayed in the face when I went to fill up with water, with what I believed to be a new chemical sprayer - when I looked inside and saw foam growing on top. Contacted Princess Auto Charlottetown and was told that it must have been used before and they sold it as new. Told them I was concerned with what chemical might have been in the sprayer that I got in my eyes and face. Told to bring in the sprayer and they would send it to their lab for analysis. Have gotten the cold shoulder from the store and head office ever since with multiple promises to call me back with a solution. Never told what the chemical was. THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS HEALTH AND SELL USED PRODUCT AS NEW. To this day I do not know what chemical I was exposed to despite many promises for a call back. Do they simply not care?! Or did they find out it was something bad and not want to tell me.=UPDATE RESPONSE TO OWNER=:Last time I spoke to the store, I was told by the manager that it was now a head office issue. Sonya told me she would call me back after the voicemail left merely told me that she was unsure of what it was and that it was probably soap" estimating it was the customer who cleaned it out when they returned it to the store. Her estimation isn't a lab result. I explained this to her and she said she would call me back after speaking with the "lab". She never returned my call. Yes

Had a great experience looking for a lockable floor standing cabinet. Service person (may have been manager) helped me. They were very good... I left with a product I am delighted with.... great service!!!! Keep up the great work!

Very good, albeit sometimes variable, selection (the surplus department, anyway). You never know what you may find - so some rummaging may be required. The shelves are typically full-to-overflowing with product. If you know what you want, find a staff member to hunt it down! Descent prices, very good sale prices. Find am the price on some products can be a challenge, again requiring the assistance of a staff member. But they're above-average for friendliness, at least in this store location.

I like shopping here and there are some genuinely good employees. However it's very frustrating never being able to find an item that's listed as in stock, and some newer employees don't seem to care to help find the items you're looking for. Also the lady in the surplus department (a long-term employee) doesn't social distance at all. She's nearly knocked me over a few times without giving me so much as a foot of space. A few months ago I would have given a five-star review.

Princess Auto is a misnomer as it has very little to do with automobiles. It a large shop that is full of mechanical equipment, hand tools seasonal equipment (gardening etc) and much more. The shop is bright and well organized. It is a man's store for anyone that is mechanically inclined. I could browse there for an hour easy. The washrooms are large and clean and there is ample free parking. The staff I talked with were friendly and knowledgable."

It’s always worth a visit to princes auto! Helpful staff and a big selection of all kinds of stuff. Surplus is my favourite.

I was already inside looking for the thing i came for before i was told the store was closed…i could have bought it. Very rude. I came for a specific item

Great experience with Princess Auto and especially with Ben. He went above and beyond to make sure that I was satisfied with my purchase. There was a bit of mix up with my purchase but he made it right. I will continue to shop here.
