Went to Sushi by Yuji before COVID and was very impressed by the quality and missed this place for the whole COVID. Booked them for a birthday celebration but quality definitely went down and portions are SO small, especially the sashimi. For the price they charge they can definitely afford to give thicker pieces... Spent more than 150 for two people but was still hungry after.

The sushi was beautifully prepared, fresh, and reasonably priced. We ordered the house special roll, which was enormous. I left feeling stuffed, which is rare for sushi restaurants!

If you love to support local, I recommend trying Sushi By Yuji. This is a small authentic Japanese restaurant, they get fresh fish daily and have several daily specials. This is the closest you can get to tasting sushi straight out of Japan!

One of the most authentic and legit experience that touches you like Japan does. Fish and ingredients are super fresh. It feels like you sat down at a sushi restaurant in Japan immediately as you enter.

I love the freshness of all the food at Sushi by Yuji. We ordered a variety of raw and cooked items and all of them were fresh and delicious. My favourite was the uni sashimi, it was so sweet and creamy. It literally melts in your mouth. If you plan on dining here it is wise to make a reservation as the place isn't very large and fills up quickly. This is not a quick in and out with overly large portion sushi place so be prepared to stay for a bit of time and order a bit more. Overall I enjoyed the experience and will dine here again in the future.

The worst Japanese restaurant in town. I go to Japanese restaurants that serve basic bentos as well as those higher end serving omakasa at over $200 per person. All in all, food quality here is super disappointing. Service is extremely low too. Menu is also limited. Even the basic rolls were loose and not up to basic standard. I paid over $100 for 2 pax but I needed to grab another dinner right after.

My favourite sushi spot in Vancouver! Chef Yuji never fails to disappoint with consistently fresh, delicious seafood. Call ahead to book, as this charming little restaurant is usually busy in the evenings. The price point is also reasonable for the amazing quality of food, keeping me coming back for more.

Our friend ordered for us so I don't know the names but everything we had was absolutely amazing. Quaint little shop but the fish was very fresh and everything was made PERFECTLY! Reservation is needed!

Small menu, but really fresh fish. It's a small space, so you normally need to reserve a spot and tend to run out of spots well before closing. The portion sizes aren't big, but so flavorful. Definitely has a bit of a small authentic sushi restaurant in Japan vibe.

I almost don't want to review this place so it can stay a secret but happy to support them. Thrilled they have re-opened and are offering take out.This is the one of the best sushi places in Vancouver. The fish is incredibly fresh and high quality. Don't expect a lot of quantity here, this is the more traditional Japanese sushi and it's wonderful. The menu features special seafood such as uni and otoro. The Saba is my favourite.If you want to dine in, I recommend a reservation to avoid disappointment. The place is quite small and dining times are 1.5 hours.
