The Village Grocer

This place brings me so much joy. It's a little slice of heaven tucked away in Unionville. The freshest produce, baked goods, prepared foods and so much more. Jelly rolls and ice cream sandwiches are a real treat. The prepared food counter has proteins and veggies that are fresh and tasty. It's pricier than your average grocery store for sure, but it's worth it if you're looking for quality.

Love the cake! The half size is super big enough. Little bit dry but taste good!

Nice and cozy grocery shop. Not too big but lots of unique choices. Mixed belly cream roll is their signature product - strongly recommend. Friendly and helpful staffs. Price a bit higher compare to other grocery shop, but in terms of quality, it worth the money.

We love The Village Grocer. The store is well stocked with regular groceries and specialty items. We only buy our ice cream here, the handcrafted Village Creamery ice cream is delicious and addictive. Owner and staff are friendly and down to earth, we happily support this local business!!

Yesterday I walked in the Village grocers for the first time I was very surprised how big it was and all of the different sections I'll name a few cold salad, sushi, bakery, cheese and meat, fruit I went all the way to the back of the store to the ice cream section. I heard a lot of good things about the homemade ice cream. I had to try I got the Apple Crisp and the Ontario Strawberry. Strawberry was so delicious I have not tried the apple crisp but sound good

It really enjoyed my visit to The Village Grocer. It was a small supermarket but they have the most unique things that you won’t find everywhere. The store was very clean and well organized. They decorated nicely with pumpkins when we shop during the Thanksgiving weekend. The prepared meals counter also have a great variety of cooked dishes that we could buy for our dinner. It was great that they have fresh made oven cooked turkey that we could buy to add to our homemade thanksgiving dinner. Another surprise that I found there was their cake shop. It was totally amazing! They have some beautiful cakes, cute looking cupcakes and tasty muffins. We were so excited to buy them home. I got their signature Lemon Meringue Pie (small size), two cupcakes and two pumpkin cranberry muffins. They were yummy and did not disappoint us at all. The price was not cheap compared to other grocery stores but I considered it reasonable for the high quality. It’s worth your visit if you want to buy some special items and high quality goods.

I use to shop at this place every week for my fruits , vegetables & some prepared meals, but was so disappointed with the service I received recently.Firstly, I purchased a blueberry muffin one morning, and decided to have for my breakfast with my coffee, the muffin was not soft as it always was & when I took a bite it tasted really stale.A manger was called from the bakery department & she mentioned the muffin was not stale, and made a number of comments which I ignored, and she decided to replace the muffinI like to give second chances, so I continued to shop there.Secondly, I bought a dessert that you have to pay a deposit of $1.00, and when you return the container you get your depositI took back the container & the cashier went to speak with another cashier & came back & mentioned I did not pay a depositThe cashier started to raise her voice which was very embarrassing & I asked her to get the ManagerThe manager was adamant that I was not charged a deposit which made me looked as if I was lying, sorry I did not have my receiptWhere is the customer service for customers that are spending there hard earned money when there are other stores to shopAs the saying goes, I consider this to be penny wise & pound foolish, because every week I spend over $100.00 @ Village GrocerI live 5 minutes away from Village Grocer, which is walking distance & was convenient for me to shop, but based on the above I will shop elsewhereVery disappointed customer

Amazing selection, great looking produce, ice cream is the best I’ve ever had, bakery makes delicious items for a solid price. Recommend shopping their sales which are great for high quality products.Bonus their fri/ weekend bbqs are absolutely delicious for only $15-20, amazing customer service!

The Jellyroll cake is really yummy and the price is also pretty reasonable. $25.99 for a big size, probably enough for 6 to 8 people... We love to get this cake for special occasions once in a while. The cookie was delicious as well. There are lots of interesting products in the store and the service was great. However, the samosas were quite expensive... $2.99 each for either chicken or vegetable samosa...

Always fresh ingredients each week and works so well with the locals. Their ice cream are irreplaceable and we haven’t been eating any other ice cream flavours since!
