Building Blocks Educational Childcare Ltd

Our 3 year old daughter has been going there for 4 months now and loves it! The owner and staff are excellent and bring lots of care and attention everyday. They have a great schedule with lots of play time and learning and the activities seem to change constantly.

everything here tasted great i came here on my first date and we both left stuffed. will be coming back for dinner soon.

My little guy has been going to Building Blocks for 2 years now and he loves it! Great Center, good program, and I love that they provide healthy meals.

I don’t normally leave reviews but I felt after my experience I should with this one... When I first went on a tour I was told I could expect a year to be more than enough time to expect an opening for my little one. Around the year mark I called them and other daycares I applied at to see how the status was looking. They were the only ones I could not reach and I left 3 messages over the course of two weeks before someone called me back. The women who called started off by saying “This is not how this works. We call you, you don’t call us” which is unbelievably rude. When I said I applied a year ago and I’m going back to work soon so just wanted to know what the status was she sighed heavily and said “we can’t tell you that”. I said other centres were able to tell me how many I had before me And she said she “doesn’t know, it could be months”. I said that’s fine but they that they shouldn’t be making these claims at the beginning a and they should be more upfront about not on that. And she said well what do you want me to say. As I asked to speak to the manager because her whole tone of voice and attitude was unprofessional she put me on hold and I could hear her telling someone that I was yelling and swearing at her which I was not. When she came back on the phone I said I could her what she was saying and she hung up! I called back and left a msg because I was willing to assume this person didn’t represent the whole company and maybe washaving a bad. Also part of the reason I called was to check on available days as most daycares will tell you this greatly effects what their availability is but NEVER received a call back from anyone there at any point. The fact that they are never available for calls or return msgs givee you a good idea what they think of the parents, which isn’t much.A couple weeks later I was back at work and one of my coworkers said she recieved a call from them but went somewhere else. She applied 3 months after I did. And I spoke to someone else and they too applied months after I did but recieved a call the same week I called to see the status. They hadn’t called me at all at this point So it’s obvious they are NOT CALLING PEOPLE BACK IN ORDER of application fee which is what they tell you they do. I can’t believe they are getting away with this. I tried calling them about the fact that they kept my fee and yet never called me (apparently don’t expect to reach someone ever) and left messages but never ended up speaking to someone.Something else to consider is their napping situation. They don’t have a separate napping room for babies, just mats on the playroom floor) and also don’t accomendate your child’s own napping needs (ie if your baby naps twice a day still or need a longer nap which most under one do). Unfortunately I am only able to give Building Blocks a two star rating. It is a good daycare for young children and does have a great lunch menu. Coming from the experience of working there I would not recommend it to be a good place for employment. The organization is poor, there are no breaks offered. You generally work a 8.5-10 hour day without even a 15 minute break. The pay is not direct deposit . Waiting for a paycheck was brutal as they did not have the cheques ready by closing day. I have worked in Child care for the past 10 years and this was NOT a positive experience for me. Hopefully things have changed by now. I do not recommend working here.

Our 1 year old loves going here. She is always excited to get there. Everyone on staff is helpful and i have full trust in them with my child.
