Reception staff are knowledgeable & assist you in any way they can.This is a very high volume area with numerous activities being carried out in a confined area.Please have patience with the staff because while it's not an ER department, emergencies can arise. Your appointment may take longer than usual.

Excessively long wait times. Over 6hrs and I'm still waiting. I was told maybe 20~30 more mins 2hrs ago when i asked if I could step out to get dinner.Staff are empathetic and respectful; my only complaint is the timeliness of the service.Other people in the waiting room have suggested going to other hospitals and not sure if it's a scare tactic or what but the staff inform them yes you can leave but you'd be at the bottom of the wait list at the next hospital you go to

My father was admitted for a infection a week of nothing my father toe turned black and they said it was fine and let him go home after a week he again was back at the hospital admitted and at the end they told him that they will remove his toes from two it was told three but only removed 2 then after few days not doing anything the infection was still spreading at the end they removed half of his leg due to there fault. Nurses aren’t even helping him after his surgery not even following his pain medication on time. To the point they don’t even help or give him something to pee in and when accidents happen the nurses get mad at him. It’s been a month he’s been there.My mother even passed away in the hospital and they only kept saying she’s too sick too sick no other reason or any other info

We went to my mom’s appointment for her MRI. Everything is good the front desk lady is very nice same with the security guard. But at the mri department they’re not compassionate i can say. While i was waiting for my mom the nurse (lady) called me because my mom is crying. The nurse told me that my mom has a claustrophobic . When i ask my mom what happened she said that they put her in the small Mri machine and right after she lay down the guy immediately started the machine without telling her first, and she was suffocating while she was inside because the space is very small which is obviously not the size for mom. When she cried , that’s when they switched her to the big one . After that everything is okay.

Working for AHS over ten years and refused to go here because i understand the system. System proved itself. As a nurse myself, this is why nurses have a bad rep. Their processes here are “different” than the rest of the remaining AHS sites I work at. Told them I have chest pain and the nurse looked at me like I’m dumb

I spent 10 days in this hospital, 2 nights in the ER and then 8 more in the psych ward. The care right from all the nursing staff to every doctor and specialist I dealt with was outstanding and they sent me home with many resources and referrals. We Are very fortunate to have people like this in the Edmonton area and I commend them for their dedication and professionalism. I can say they probably saved my life and sent me home with a game plan!

I was with my friend who was getting a hernia operation. The nurses were excellent to him and very polite to me as a visitor. I know hospitals get a lot of flack, but i believe most people working there try there best.

The atmosphere is horrible. Its full of people that are just looking for a place to sleep. Addicts just falling all over the place and security and peace officers just sit and laugh. Real emergencies wait for 3 hours while they just queue everybody but dont access the situation. Horrible place to be.

I had my two year old here for a diagnostic scan on her eyes. The doctor was wonderful. He explained everything that would happen and he was great with my daughter. The first half of the scan went well. We had to wait 10 or so minutes in between the first and second half of the scan, in which time my daughter fell asleep. We had to wake her to continue the scan and she was very unhappy and uncooperative after being woken up. He was very understanding and ended the visit there as to not upset or traumatize her more than need be! Along with our kind doctor, everyone else we spoke to working in the hospital was kind and helpful. When I put my daughter to bed tonight, she told me she liked her doctor and wants to go back to the hospital lol

Went in for hard time breathing, tight chest and feeling faint. Was stuck in the hallway" for 6 hours. When I had a change in status the nurses both were nonplus and "Justin" told me "Oh well it's a bad day to be sick." Both floor nurses were totally unsympathetic and spent at LEAST 3 hour just typing on their computers. I could see their screens and it didn't look like anything was happening on the screens. It seems like they were just appearing 'busy'. Maybe they were entering stuff but it seemed more like they were just ignoring the patients which they were very good at indeed!!! As usual the Royal Alex sucks for critical care and I'm sure this review will fall on deaf ears."
