I got two different opinions on my chihuahua's teeth before coming here, one vet said dental work was unneccessary, the other said at least four teeth were abcessed. Here the doctor said maybe one tooth was abcessed but his lips were obviously swollen. They did dental work (removing two teeth) & neutering, for an unbeatable price, and they did great work! My chihuahua is so much happier now and eating normally again. He had no complications and the staff was so nice! We did once get a rude person over the phone, but that was an exception. They were knowledgable, caring, and affordable. We are definitely switching vets to Ford now!

I was really hoping that because i was referred by family that I wouldn't have this experience, or that someone so rude wouldn't still have her employment there. But, I was wrong.I was cut off, and told to go where i normally take my other cats.I have a brand new animal, whom I founf abandoned, and who is having issues.This woman had zero compassion, or social skills at all.You can tell that I was annoying her.So, I'd like to thank her, for making an already stressful situation, much much worse.Im sure the vets are amazing.But having someone answer the phone like that, will definitely hurt the business, and ruin a reputation.

I recently came across someone asking for recommendations for vets, and I recommended Ford and then decided to give them official review here. I absolutely love Ford. I have gone to a few different vets over the years, and they are by far the best yet. I started taking my puppy in March and the staff was fantastic. The women in the reception area are so sincere and kind first of all. Always very helpful with questions over the phone and address any concern you have. Dr. Patrick McCarthy was the first vet I met there and he was beyond informative and helpful with my LIST of concerns (being a first time (on my own) puppy owner.) I was previously using a different vet for my two cats since it was closer to my old home, but a semi-emergency came up last week that required one of my cats to need a visit. The normal vet tech at their old vet warned that I actually should not bring her there, due to the fact that the vet would overcharge me ($800). Ford got me in within two hours of calling, and we saw Dr. Tutu. They provided the NECESSARY care, which ended up being less than $100. For anyone looking for genuine care, without the fear they may be out to make a few extra dollars off of you, Ford is my #1 recommendation. Sidenote: Even though he has no idea, Dr. Walter McCarthy used to be a customer of mine at a restaurant I worked at. He is a genuinely kind man, at work and outside of work.

I took my Winstonboy there and I had an absolutely pleasant visit. I was in and put and the vet was so sweet to my boy. Winston gets very nervous in unknown situations. He's also very loving and loves pets. So the doctor was so kind to pet him and hug him and comfort him when he was afraid of his shots. All my babies will be coming here from now on. And the receptionists were lovely as well.

WE ABSOLUTELTY LOVE FORD VET. Dr P McCarthy is awesome. he takes such good care of my pet's medical needs. His staff is great to work with. Doc McCarthy is great with animals and very knowledgeable. He's been my pet's doctor for years. never had a complaint.

Receptionist is rude. 19 yrs going there and taking both my dogs and she was rude every time. Dr was good so I Ignored it. My old girl needed to be euthanized. They told me her rabies shot needed to be done first. She was due before euthanizing her. Really? Never went back!!!

We love both doctors McCarthy, but the younger is especially good. He takes great care to explain what is going on and how the treatment plan will work. He is super patient with us and our pets and seems to care deeply about the well-being of our animals. He has stayed late to meet with us when our dog was ill and we couldn’t get there during regular hours. I have not had any issues with the front desk people so I can’t comment on that, but the veterinarians themselves have repeatedly shown that they are skilled, caring and dedicated. Based on my experiences and those of my friends and relatives over many years, I would not hesitate to recommend them.

I do not care what any other review says, I will always hype and recommend this place, especially after my cat Bitz shattered her elbow in 3 different spots as a kitten. I called probably 8 places before I called Ford and no one would see her for like a day or two and wanted an insane amount upfront just for an office visit. I called Ford as a last resort and explained my situation. They squeezed her in that day, took x-rays and the vet there explained my options. Told me they could realign the elbow and cast it right there and now or I could spend over 5k on an invasive surgery that would stunt the growth of her leg. The cast would leave her with a stiff leg and limp the rest of her life but the leg would grow. With her still still growing, I opted for the cast. The end results? Because they did such an amazing job, not only does she not have a limp or stiff leg but I left their offices without draining my bank account even though I had to bring her in a few more times to be recasted. They are now the only vet I will go. Not to mention everyone working there was so friendly too. My cat is now 3 years old and still a pain in my behind, but I love her so much.

The actual VETERINARIANS are wonderful! Unfortunately the secretary with the sing song voice thinks she went to medical school and really likes to add her 2 cents whenever possible. She completely ruined my entire experience for years at Ford Vet. Once your dog is no longer a puppy she’s over you and your dog. It’s unfortunate because like I said, the actual Vets are amazing. I just can’t deal with the nonsense of getting to the veterinarians anymore. If you can’t afford better care… or other offices are too far, just ignore her and keep calling back until you can speak with or see the veterinarian. Stay strong … she’s a tough warden at Ford vet on Hyde Park!

This is a huge debate for me. My dogs and I absolutely love Dr. McCarthy and would give him 7 stars. He is very patient and kind. He treats my furbabies like there his own family. Now, the front staff is a huge negative factor so i had to take some stars away. The two front staff ladies are incredibly rude and condescending; I ask questions because I'm not an expert. I don't want an anxiety attack before I go to the vets.
