Adept Services Home Renovations Done Right

We had a good experience with Adept. They were very communicative and receptive to feedback. Any questions were responded to within a few hours and worked with us on pricing items for our bathroom. Any concerns we had about touch-ups or adjustments were met with kindness, promptness and professionalism. I'd use them again!

Due to a sewer backup we had to replace the basement flooring. We met with Stephen to assess the situation and walk us through the project. We couldn’t have been happier with the outcome: very professional including COVID pre-cautions, quality installation and completed the work on-time. Project manager Stacey was a pleasure to work with, great communication and attention to detail. We wouldn’t hesitate to use Adept again in the future for home renovations.

We hired Adept Services to paint our exterior walls, parge exterior foundation, fill in the gaps in brick (pointing) and replace some aluminum siding with cedar siding. This is our second time using Adept Services because we were so pleased with their professionalism and quality of work. Steven and Ana handled our change requests promptly and seamlessly. When the work was done, they left no messes and cleared all equipment and garbage. Payment was easy, transparent and straightforward even with multiple change requests. If you want work done right and to your satisfaction, go with Adept Services!

I have owned multiple properties in the past 25 years and hired dozens of trades and contractors, this by far was the WORST, most UNPROFESSIONAL experience I have ever had with a contractor. Great front end, will promise the world, but the complete lack of experience has shown through. We are into 5 months on a job that should have taken less than 6 weeks. Continued promises and horrible results should be a warning. Do not hire these people. Do your homework and hire professionals. I even supplied all the materials which ended up being double the square footage somehow. Stolen materials, damaged vanity 3 times which we had to replace at our cost. Floors had to be redone multiple times due to poor installation, hvac subcontractor installed a radiator that does not work and flooded our house in the process of installation. Now being told that if we do not pay for the radiator that does not work they will not repair the flooring as a result of the flood caused by them, the new flooring that was just installed! The list goes on and on. Attempted to charge EXTRA" on work that was already included in the contract on multiple occasions.This contractor even had the audacity to leave negative reviews on my businesses because I left a negative review on this unprofessional work in an attempt to damage my good standing in the community

Adept had performed a small project in the past for us and kept in touch over the years. When it came time for us to scope out our project to enclose a second floor balcony in our century-old home, Stephen and his team responded immediately to our call to contractors for estimates. In his initial visit Stephen came by and spent a couple of hours with us to plan out the project educating us and helping us understand how Adept would help us realize our plans for this unique space. After presenting us with a few options, we were able to come up with a plan to proceed. A contract was drawn up which laid out scope of activities and payment schedules. Inevitable changes to scope when working with an older home were fully discussed, approved and documented. The project involved integrating other contractors who were engaged separately and Adept worked to integrate them as much as possible into the overall project.Throughout the project Stephen was very good about keeping us up to date on the status of the project. His team was courteous, professional, and clean. He absorbed costs that he felt were errors on his end, and made changes to his schedule to accommodate changes on our end (which we had previously opted out of in his original scoping). We are very happy with the way this project has turned out and are looking forward to working with Adept again on future projects to improve our home.

In response to Steve's comments who is the owner and is horrible to deal with! We also had to make sure he was not able to come back to the condo because for some unknown reason he thought it was OK to hold on to our house keys and he even made his worker put them in her pocket and not give them back to us. We said everything was ok because it was the only way to get them to stop having to come back. We had people come in and clean properly, we had to have the base boards sanded and painted and we had to have nails removed and our walls touched up because they chipped the paint. If he thinks he left it in good condition then that should be an indication of the work they profess to do! I am only giving a high level account of what actually happened. Worst reno experience ever!!!!! See below.Terrible Reno experience. Commitments not followed through on throughout the project. Would not give our house keys back to us when asked. Promise the world but unable to deliver and made many changes to the agreement but made it sound like it was all in our favor.To start off - they came to the job site hours late. Unprepared! no dolly, no tarps. 3 days in and still hadn't completed demo to remove flooring of a very small area. No man power. NEVER met any of they're timeframes. Couldn't determine how long it would take to complete each task. Blamed lack of progress on our building but I talked to her and she had a totally different story.Not to mention how dirty everything was left on a daily basis. They put our furniture on top of saw dust they created and didn't take any care in protecting our stuff. Numerous times I had to place the tarps back on the furniture that I went out to purchase.None of workers had safety gear - no safety glasses, nothing to cut the flooring on - used they're leg. Totally unprofessional and super dangerous but no supervisor was on site.We were told that the baseboards would come finished but this is not true they were filled with caulking - seams were awful, they left nails sticking out of them, they glued together short pieces, left tape and glue on the floor. We now have another issue where one of the thresholds came off.We spent 15k on this Reno - the most expensive quote we received - very disappointed for costly Reno.

Adept did a renovation of our kitchen this year and our bathroom last year. They were prompt in their responses and their pricing was comparable to other contracting services. The trades professionals were overall very good and there was good attention to detail. The project managers, Stephen and Anna, were often on site, supervising the work and performing quality checks. We were living in the house during the course of the renovations and while sometimes project timelines were understandably delayed, we were happy with Adept's the close communication and adaptation to our schedule. Stephen and Anna answered all of our questions no matter how small and made appropriate recommendations given our budget, style or family utilization of the space. Most notable for us was that if there was any issue, concern or mistake that occurred during the course of the project, Adept made sure to make things right, which built a lot of trust with us. We would definitely consider using Adept for future renovations.

Stephen Dixon attended at my residence promptly, and was courteous. He gave me an very clear appraisal for the work I was asking about, but he was very honest about the fact that I didn't need it. And I was very grateful as it would've been a very big and potentially expensive job. That was very honest of him, and I appreciate his Integrity very much. In future, I will be calling AS Adept Serivecs first to take care of all of my renovation needs. I strongly recommend Stephen, and say that he has been the best contractor I've ever called.

We were very happy with Adept Services and the work they did in our home. Stephen, Anastasiya and team were very professional, friendly and organized. They explained every step of our renovations in detail and were in constant communication with us at all times. We would definitely contact them again for future renovations and recommend them to friends.

I used them to do the tiles in my new shower and washroom floor area. The installer was amazing. He took his time which was great as I like the attention to detail and when someone rushes the job its not good. They did awesome work. Definitely recommend them. Jose was very professional and cleaned up the worksite after. Dont use anyone else. Only hire these professionals !!!
