My daughter has grown in skill and confidence over the past year and a half that we have been with Symbols. Our tutor Melanie and all the staff we have met in our time at the centre have been warm, welcoming and friendly. The reporting and payment systems are clear and helpful for sharing our progress with our school. We are very glad to have found Symbols!

Our daughter has unique learning needs and has thrived at Symbols. We are so happy with her progress. Our tutor Melanie does a wonderful job of connecting with her and giving her strategies that we see her use all the time with her school assignments. My son who is 9 and in grade 4 has been receiving help with his written output disorder (dysgraphia) for the last 4 months and I am blown away by the gains my son has made! Things I have worked on with him for the last couple years and have not worked they have got him rolling with in such a very short time. My son not only looks forward to going in the 2 days a week he attends but asks for extra homework to take home! Thank you Symbols! Highly recommend!

We have had such a great experience with Symbols. Our daughter is really progressing with her reading. Eileen our tutor is warm and encouraging. Our daughter looks forward to her sessions. They always accommodate our schedule and are friendly.

Symbols has been a really good experience. Alana is an excellent tutor and has been a great help to my daughter in support of her learning style in math. My daughters grade and confidence has improved immensely because of Alana's fun personality and relaxed but dedicated teaching habits. I highly recommend both.

My sons have had 2 1/2 years of great support with their academics. Their tutors are dedicated, kind and thorough. My sons enjoy going and feel they have learned how to write better with the individualized attention and lessons they receive at Symbols. Being one of 30 students in a school classroom sometimes does not provide the best environment for learning differences. I am a Middle School educator who recommends Symbols and the Orton Gillingham method to my students’ parents when I see the need and am unable to meet it in the classroom setting. We are very happy to have found Symbols!

Super impressed! Our tutor (Dana) is very thorough and efficient as she provides a recap of each session as well as outlining homework (in person and by email). The teaching techniques are structured to be fun and enjoyable as well, so kids actually look forward to attending. Well worth the investment!

My son has attended Symbols (Coquitlam) for approx 3 years now, specifically for their Orton-Gillingham teaching method, and has progressed significantly relative to when he first enrolled and initially assessed. He started out barely able to read even simple words, diagnosed as being two grade levels behind his peers, and feeling extremely unconfident in his reading ability to now being an avid reader of chapter style books. Currently he is now moving on to improve upon his writing skills.He has been with four different tutors during this time and all have been very caring, focused, and genuinely wanting to help the student improve and progress further. My son is not particularly keen on public school but he actually enjoys attending the tutoring lessons once weekly at Symbols. That says a lot!

My youngest son, who has LD has been attending for 5 years. It has been a pleasure to work with the staff and my son always enjoys his sessions! All the tutors we have had over the years have been great matches; they learn and have fun. We have used other tutoring services for my older son, but this is better than anything else we tried.

My son has been at Symbols for three years for writing and reading. He really enjoys being tutored by Alana. She's warm, smart and makes it fun for him. Im so glad I found this place because it has helped my son with his reading tremendously!
