Went two years without a cut, but went to Crows Nest and met Brent who took fantastic care of my head. Great vibes in the shop, great music, and a new interview-ready look. Couldn't be happier with it.

I have been growing out my hair from an undercut I had and I told the barber DO NOT SHAVE THE SIDES. He shaved my sides and butchered the top! I cried for hours after coming home! It looks like a friken military haircut! absolutely destroyed my self esteem…I still can’t bare to look in the mirror! Most traumatic experience I have ever had!

Tried to get a haircut, barbers were rude (especially chino). I kept asking to use his judgement to cut my hair bc I had no idea what I want. Instead of being respectful, he looked annoyed and when I left without getting a haircut, I heard them making fun of me. Extremely unprofessional, I don’t care if the environment is chill and friendly Kensington vibes, respect your customers. If I was not a good fit for the salon, say it NICELY.

The hair cutting was too long becouse the barber had bad tools. I received a headache after this. When they cut your hair the mirror is behind you, so you can't see what the barber is doing. It's ridiculous! And no hair washing! How it's possible? You are in Torronto! It's not a service! Don't go there!

A tad late of a review, as the last time I was here was over a year ago, but let me share with you my last experience here and the one that resulted in me having to choose another barbershop.I usually booked my appointment, but this time I was in the area and decided to pop in and wait for an open spot. Crow’s Nest has apprentices take care of the walk ins - so a new gent cut my hair - but that’s not all he cut…During the end of the haircut, as he was taking care of the back of my neck, I felt a warm liquid run down my neck and into my shirt. I thought it was the warm shaving cream so I continued to look down and close my eyes. It then began to sting. I felt my neck and looked at my bloodied hand. The apprentice claimed that the razor blade was old and dull, and hence the multiple cuts on my neck. He apologized. Wrapped it up, and I paid. Yes, they still charged me. And only once I was home and the day progressed had I realized the extent of the cuts. I ended up needing antibiotics because the cuts were infected. And that’s it. Just be careful here and make sure you go with one of the more experienced barbers, and make sure you glance at the state of the razor blades before hand.

I been here a few times, this last time was just not a great cut. When I got home and had a good look, I finished the cut my self. Probably won’t go back.

My husband has been a loyal customer here for over 10 years. We even brought our entire male bridal party here the day of our wedding for haircuts and shaves in 2014.We’ve since had kids, and have never taken our 2 boys (4&6) anywhere else for their sweet fades. We make a 30 min trek here for haircuts, and it’s always worth it.Crows nest has a super chill vibe and is fully stocked with a team of skilled barbers. If you want a fade that'll turn heads, my boy big Matt always gives my husband and sons the BEST haircuts and fades…. My boys receive no shortage of compliments! They also have a super convenient online reservation system to see availability and pricing. The pricing is very fair given their skill and their central location in downtown Toronto.Big shout out to Matt for consistently great haircuts and service too!

As a bearded man I'm on a mission to discover the best barbershop tailored to men like myself. As my first stop, I tried Crows Nest today. My appointment was with Sarah. I spent 30 min and paid $33.90 + 15% tip. This is place was NOT what I had hoped for.I have to say the location is nice, just at the mouth of Kensingston. It has too many religious symbols for my taste. Cobwebs were visible in the corners of the ceiling, as I was laid back most of the time. The chair was broken and the hot towels were stiff (as I found out, from yesterday). I wanted a trim and not a shave and I can't understand why I had to lie back down. It was uncomfortable and unsettling not being able to see the trim as it progressed. As for the trim itself, she did the cheek lines well and can fix any previous mistakes. The rest of the beard ... not so much. After the trim, she did not clean the clippings off of me and I ended up with hair all over my pants ... going to the office.

$90 for a haircut and shave. This is late stage capitalism at its finest. They did a decent job. By no means would I say they are master barbers (and I have a large and diverse sample size to compare to). The shop was nice enough. The hot towels were a nice touch, but there seems to be no correlation of price to value added services. This is premium prices and I would hope they might serve an espresso or drink option while in the chair.
