I went to the Winners Homesense in Anjou, Montreal today with my daugther, sister and mom. My daughter chose a small artificial plant in a ceramic pot for her first appartement. It was listed at 10$. We get to the cash, the young cashier takes the plant out of the pot and tells us it doesn’t belong in it, that they should be sold separatly. There was no price or bar code on the plant, only on the pot. The bottom of the plant was styrofoam and didn’y look like something that could be put on a shelf to sell on its own. My mom told her they were together on the shelves, with other similar plants all sold in a pot. The cashier was extremely arrogant and said the plant didn’t fit snugly in the pot and it was obvious we should have known they didn’t go together. I was paying for my things at the cash next to my mom. The young cashier called the manager to set a price on the plant. At that point, my cashier, the other one and the manager all started discussing the situation, saying the plant was probably in another pot that either broke during transportation or in store and was put in the pot by another customer and not priced by mistake. Then they said that it would probably usually sell for 12,99 with the pot so they would sell us the plant 6$. Then changed their mind to 7$. So basically they were just guessing a price and deciding it would be 10$ for the pot, plus another 7$ for the plant, so 17$, when they had just said they usually sold for 12,99. At that point I intervened and said that if I was not mistaken, there were laws that when there was a price error, under 10$ they had to give it for free, so to just include the plant. The girl became even more arrogant than she already had been since the start and the cashier at my cash sided with her and started saying they knew the laws and it wasn’t their fault if people switched things on the shelves. My daughter then said I knew my law really well and my cashier said she also did, better than me, as she was a lawyer and her parents were juges. The young cashier continued to be arrogant and rude with my 65 year old mother who had not said anything. They teamed up on us and started telling us they knew their laws better than us and that we should have know they plant and pot didn’t go together. The manager was watching the scene not saying a thing. This entire time, we were calm and polite, suggesting things and trying to settle the matter, but the 2 cashiers were rude, arrogant and hostile. Finally, I said to forget it that we wouldn’t buy it and I said that I understood that there could be a mistake, what I didn’t understand was the arrogance and rudeness and that the young cashier’s arrogance with my mom was unacceptable. The older cashier was still scanning my things and said to me: ok, it’s enough, have a good day, goodbye. In other words, she was kicking us out because she didn’t like my comment on her colleagues arrogance. I told her I was not addressing her and she said that she was at the cash too and that she didn’t want to hear it. I was able to pay and they continued commenting on the situation, mocking us until we finally paid all our things and left.I am a very patient customer in general and I understand working in stores is not always easy. My 3 kids work in restaurants as summer jobs. However, it was the beginning of the day, the store had just opened, there was no rush at the cash and all 4 of us were polite. There was absolutely no reason for the service we got, for the arrogance, mocking and rudeness. What was a fun moment as a family shopping for my daughter’s first appartement became a very uncomfortable moment. I still cannot understand how those employees thought it was ok to treat customers this way, especially polite ones.Winners

Huge store, bigger than most I've seen in the neighborhood. Price are nice and it offers decent stock. This is the best place to find wear for men as their section is at least 3x bigger than any other i've seen. I will definitively come back for more.

The choice is ok and the store is big. Everything was cleaned and organized, and not too crowded for a Saturday evening.
