Blouin Brothers Insulation

We recently had Blouin Brothers do some insulation work and install an HRV in our home. From the time I contacted their office, to the end of our projects, they were outstanding to deal with. I can’t say enough about how knowledgeable and committed they were in delivering outstanding workmanship and expertise. Throughout their time with us, they demonstrated a keen and genuine interest in working with us to fix the issues and getting the necessary work done in our home. As for the HRV system, we had been told by two other businesses that an HRV install would be impossible to do in our home. Well, Blouin Brothers did it ! I’m happy to report we have the HRV system we’d been so desperately wanting. It was a tough install, but they completed the work with great precision and effectiveness. Special thanks to James for his determination and hard work in installing the HRV. He went above and beyond…he even built us an awesome looking box around some of the exposed piping in the closet to hide the pipes - hides everything and you can’t even tell there’s piping back there :)As for the insulation work Blouin did, it was expertly done! We had been encountering condensation issues in our basement walls because the previous owners had not completed the work properly, and not to code. We had to rectify the issue before things got worse. We hired Blouin to strip the outer basement walls, remove the drywall and the pink insulation that had become wet by the condensation. Once the walls were stripped, we got them to re-insulate our entire outer basement walls. They re-insulated the walls using a 3” thick spray foam insulation. We also had them add blown insulation in our attic. What a professional job they did. We can already tell a difference! We can rest easy now knowing that our home is professionally insulated and meets a high energy efficiency standard. Special thanks to Jamie for his guidance and for steering our projects in the right direction. We couldn’t have asked for better and more professional workmanship. Special thanks to James for all his hard work and determination with the installation of the HRV. What an outstanding job he did! Our thanks to Kyle, Fito and CJ for their expert insulation work. Blouin Brothers are experts in their domain and are very approachable and friendly. Their business is their passion and this is reflected in every aspect of how they operate. They’ve done lots of work in our home including duct work and HRV work and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for HVAC and insulation services. It's nice to hire a family owned business because you can really sense that they care about the job at hand and that they take pride in servicing you right.

Blouin installed blown-in insulation above asbestos containing vermiculite insulation. The work by Blouin was unprofessional and very dangerous to the health of our family and their employees. Blouin's quote was cheap, but the company cut corners on safety and quality. We feel let down by their practices, and their behaviour afterwards. Ultimately, we had to hire another company to remove and reinstall the insulation. We highly do not recommend this company.

Great experience, very knowledgable and professional staff.

Blouin Brothers Insulation did extensive work in and out of our house because we were experiencing a very serious ice damming problem on one part of our roof. They did a superior job removing the old insulation, bagging it, and eventually taking it away and then putting in the new product making sure that all areas were covered properly and put in an extra insulation product so that our venting was working properly. Adam and C. J. , the two young men who did the work, were extremely efficient and the only word I can find is “nice“ to describe their personalities. Whenever I had a question they answered it immediately and made sure that I knew exactly what they were doing. They were both very polite and hard working guys and it was a pleasure to meet them and have them do the work on our home.Our journey on this project began with a conversation with Aleen, at their office, who was very knowledgeable and knew exactly what I was happening in our home and told us she would get right on it and she did. It wasn’t long before Paul (the boss…he has a title but I forget it…sorry) called us and was at our house the next morning. He looked into the condition of the attic and also showed us where we were losing heat in other parts of our house…not to sell us anything, but for our own knowledge and education.Paul worked up a plan to fix our problem, which also included a large vent to be installed on the roof and a new outside vent for our upstairs washroom which turned out to be a terrific idea since the old one was barely functioning and was falling apart. We agreed on a price and the work to be done and he said that they would start on Monday (this was Friday). He called later on Friday and said that they could start the next day and they were here on Saturday and got to work.Adam and A.J. kept everything very clean and when they were done they completely cleaned up everything and it was impossible to see that anyone had been doing work in the house.My wife and I would sincerely like to thank Aleen, Paul, and especially Adam and A.J. Paul insisted that we call him if there are any problems (which I don’t expect) and he was a terrific individual as well as a very easy guy to understand when he told us what was being done to fix our problem.Paul came back several times to check on the progress of the work and to talk to Adam and A. J. and find out if he could help in any way which was great to see, though the two young fellows were doing a terrific job.Thanks to all at Blouin Brothers and I highly recommend them if insulation and proper ventilation is a concern that you have with your home.Sincerely,Graham Wilson

The team that did the actual insulating was great, very professional and did a great job. I couldn't be happier with that part, but it wasn't a complicated job.No follow up to see if I was satisfied, they billed my credit card almost right away and had to chase them for weeks to get a copy of my invoice. Great work until they get your money and then its like you were never a customer of yours, terrible after the sale professionalism.

I was told on the phone while making my appointment for snow removal that I would get a phone call the day of my appointment just prior to the guys arriving so I could let them know where to put the snow. They never called and their footsteps on my roof woke me up. They dumped snow on my furnace vent and in front of my back yard. I had to shovel out a path for my dog and then I had to climb through 10 feet of snow to clean out my furnace vent. They left without ever talking to me anfld then emailed me an invoice for much more than I was quoted. When I mentioned the discrepancy on the phone afterwards, I was told they didn't quote what I thought they did, and I could not prove it. They did do a decent job with my roof, but their customer service was so terrible I would never recommend.
