Worst business acumen and client service. I called the studio 3 hours before class to ask if I can attend a milder YIN class as I was very sore all around from another workout 2 days ago and was a bit tight on time as I had an appointment in Richmond before class. Leonica at reception said she could not do anything and that I had to contact class pass so I did (whom I can only reach via email). Thankfully they were able to get back to me before class but also said they could not do anything as this was their policy. So I tried to make it to the 4:30pm class but was a minute late and was not allowed to enter class, which I actually understand is disturbing to a yoga practice and was ok with. However, when I asked Leonica to at least put me down as attending so that I do not get charged a $20 fee for a no show since I technically am not a no show" and made every effort on my part to work around their "policies". I tried yyoga twice. First when I was just starting my practice, I had a horrible experience because the class size was too large and I didn't get the type of instruction I needed. I left the Burrard location thinking I just wasn't a yoga person." Thankfully it didn't deter me forever as I went on to develop my practice elsewhere. The bad experience above wouldn't have been enough to prompt a review

The staff is not accommodating or that friendly. When I asked to leave a class earlier because my manager scheduled a last minute meeting, they said I should not attend the class at all, and did not offer to compensate me for my ClassPass credits. They weren't even trying to accomodate and took a very condocsending tone when speaking to me.

I have enjoyed taking classes from there. There's a good variety of different style of yoga classes, so there's enough to change it up. The staff is also very friendly.

I have only been to the Downtown Flow and Yaletown.I have been really impressed with all the instructors, and I can’t believe I’m only paying $134/ per month for unlimited classes. I had the impression this place would be really expensive, but it’s awesome value.Well, this review is mainly about Mari Dickey. She is a absolutely awesome, I LOVE her power class! I get the vibe from her that she is super dedicated to the practise of yoga, and she brings this amazing energy to every class. She gave me a lot of personal attention in all the classes I’ve done with her, even though the classes were really busy :pThank you Mari for spending so much of your time guiding my practise :)I can tell you are really devoted to spreading the gift of yoga, and I am enraptured by your dedication and your patience.I hope I can keep learning from you for years to come.See you in power class ;)Taylor

Hot yoga wasn't hot enough. Teacher was great. Too small lockers, great studio with lots of wood. Reception service is just ok. Bathrooms (washrooms and showers) are see through... Weird!

Me and my buddy recently decided to try yoga and we signed up for a month pass to try out various Y Yoga locations. Our recent trip to the Yaletown Y Yoga studio was a complete disaster and I feel obligated to share it with potential clients of Y Yoga moving forward. Our experience started with a realization that the Y Yoga Yaletown studio consists of only two small, low ceiling, cramped rooms which are poorly ventilated and looked after. The entire facility looked like it was hastly put together, a far cry from the positive reviews we heard about Y Yoga and their establishments. The Yoga training we signed up for on our visit was Power Yoga, which we expected was to be held under normal temperature, in a large well lit facility with plenty of room and fresh air to clear our minds and spirits. To our horror and great discomfort none, not a single one of these factors were present during our experience.First of all, as we entered our designated exercise room we quickly realized that due to the fact that the rooms are so small with low ceilings and poor air flow, the horrible ventilation system actually traps the hot air from previous classes in the room making the temperature soar up to 40 C. This extremely humid, sweaty and uncomfortable environment is then forced upon paying clients such as our selves who wanted to maximize the effectiveness of Power Yoga without feeling the sweat drenching temperature of Y Hot Yoga. If we wanted Hot Yoga we would have signed up for a Hot Yoga class, why force uncomfortable settings and temperatures on clients who clearly are not informed or are unaware of such conditions going into the class. Especially for first timers there is no excuse for the facility not to take measures to correct and regulate temperature before and after every class.Furthermore, the classes are chronologically spaced out in such a way that it gives almost no time between sessions for any kind of clean up or refreshment of the room from a previous class, forcing you to sit on sweat drenched floor of the past sessions, smelling their body odor and grasping for air in sub-tropical temperatures. Is this what you call a pristine experience? To us it seemed like the studio was trying to maximize profit as much as possible by having classes one after another forcing people to be on time and cramming them in like sardines to maximize profit. The greed factor obviously took precedent over all other valuable aspects of Yoga that we thought we would be getting, include peace, serenity, mind and body focus, relaxation and meditation. Instead we were forced to be cramped into a tiny area without any room to maneuver or to stretch without hitting someone behind you in the head, violating all major fire exit procedures and policies.. an extremely unsafe and uncomfortable environment is what the reality holds for patrons of this location.
