I have been working with Abbey Cats for a while now. I have always found them responsible, caring, and helpful. They go to great lengths to help cats and have a lot of combined experience with cats and cat related issues. I do not hesitate to work with them. Next time you are looking for a forever cat, contact them, they will not disappoint.

We could not be happier with our two kittens adopted from Abbey Cat Adoptions. They were nothing but professional throughout the application process and it is evident how much they really care about their cats. Thelma and Louise were given a chance at a wonderful new life and we were given the opportunity to share our home thanks to Abbey Cat.To prospective cat parents out there: don’t be discouraged by the adoption process and the various questions you are asked. This shows the incredible investment these people have in placing these little souls in their forever homes.

We absolutely adore our new cat Hazel. Abbey Cats did a really great job matching us together, as she has settled right into our family. It was very helpful reading the adoption profiles to submit our application. The process was extremely quick, efficient and communication was excellent. The foster family was also fantastic. They are so caring, took the time to share all kinds of information, answered our detailed questions, and she was well taken care of. We also received full medical paperwork with vaccines and the treatment and care given, incl. before she came to Abbey Cats.

I wanted to send a huge thank you to the Abbey Cat Adoptions team for their supportive transition in adopting a pair of kittens over the holidays! We were happy with the application process from start to pick up and are thrilled to welcome this paid of siblings into our lives!

We are so in love with our new babies!We have named our little ladies Zelda & Ziggy. It didn't take these two to get very comfy & cuddly with our family; 2 little kids and a big furry dog, who they wont stop snuggling.Abbey Cat Adoptions made it super quick and easy to adopt our new furry family members. I sent in my request and they got back to me so quickly. I filled out the paper work - called my vet, made sure to do my research and pick up all the equipment needed to make these kittens feel at home and safe. We were able to view them on a zoom call and see how they play in their foster home.The reason I looked up Abbey Cats was because they have foster homes instead of a kennel. Just happy to know that the cats are in loving homes before they find their forever homes. Thank you Abbey Cat Adoptions for saving all these cats and making sure they go to loving homes.

I recently adopted two rescue kittens from Abbey Cats and had a wonderful experience with the organization and foster family. The adoption process and responses were well-communicated, timely and efficient. I also appreciated the opportunity to meet with the foster family via Zoom prior to making a final decision. Our conversation, facilitated through Abbey Cats, offered an opportunity to hear firsthand about the foster experiences with the kittens. All of my interactions with staff and volunteers from Abbey Cats were professional, respectful and thoughtful. Overall, I found that their assistance was both informative in preparing me to adopt, and diligent for cat safety which helped to ensure the household was well-prepared to create a forever home for the two kittens. I would recommend this organization to any family or individual seeking to adopt or considering fostering.

We recently adopted our cat, and it all went so smoothly thanks to the wonderful volunteers and foster apart of our adoption process! They care deeply about the cats in their care and want to find the best homes for them, and it shows. The process was thorough yet quick, and everything was communicated very well.Highly recommend Abbey Cat Adoptions, and all the lovely people there!

I believe this adoption process may be fraudulent. Despite fostering a cat for two months and forming a strong bond, Abbey Cats team has made things difficult for me when I tried to adopt the cat I was fostering. They continuously requested me to prepare everything for the cat, which initially seemed considerate. However, after I paid for insurance and other expenses, they started sending me harsh emails, threatening me with accusations of theft as, while I was trying to adopt Bowie, they told me that they had adopted him out. I found out through their social media that Bowie had moved fosters instead. They even used photos I had taken of him to promote his adoption.Their behavior is unprofessional and shows their focus on personal biases rather than finding cats homes. Bowie felt comfortable enough with me to show his belly, and the way we parted was heartbreaking. I want to emphasize that Abbey Cats is not a shelter. They are a charity, but they are trading poor cats between homes for their own personal satisfaction. I urge you not to entrust your cats to them.In addition, at the beginning of the fostering process, Abbey Cats team assured me that they would handle all necessary arrangements. However, when I ran out of the initial supply of food that came with the cat from the previous owner, I requested more food and litter from Abbey Cats. To my surprise, they informed me that they do not provide litter and instructed me to travel all the way to Etobicoke to obtain the food. This is extremely inconvenient considering I live in downtown east. It's disappointing that they did not fulfill their initial commitment to provide necessary supplies and support.Furthermore, they replied that I could use my expenses for taxes at the end of the year. However, it's worth noting that they don't have a CRA number on their website like the Toronto Humane Society does. This raises concerns about their legitimacy and transparency, and casts doubt on their compliance with official regulations.(Obviously after all, poor Bowie ended up being taken away from me to another foster home and posted for adoption again and again…)

Abbey Cat adoptions made the adoption process easy from start to finish. We recently adopted two boys named Todd (formerly Amador) and Bo (formerly Gerwyn). Todd and Bo have settled in to our home. They are absolutely wonderful little cats and we are so pleased with the entire experience with Abbey Cat Adoptions. We had a wonderful experience with Abbey Cat Adoptions. We found our new friend Nunia through Abbey Cat. After a short vetting process of several interviews, we successfully adopted Nunia and brought her home. She has been living with us for four days now and is starting to adjust to being here.Abbey Cat's volunteers and foster were extremely helpful and careful in the vetting process. We now have a happy and healthy cat sprawled across our living room floor and feel happier and healthier for having her in our family.
