best poutine in montreal (and best i’ve ever had). fries are slightly sweet which perfectly balances this savoury dish, gravy is dark with great flavour, fries are crispy under the gravy, and cheese curds are squeaky yet slightly melted/stretchy. i’ve tried places in mtl like La Banquise and Chez Tousignant and this is the best in my opinion.

One of the best poutines I have ever had. Good place to try out if you want to eat where to locals go.

One of my favorite poutines in town. Their sauce is a little more fragrant than your typical poutine (I think they put some spice in it), but each bite you take it gets better and better. Portion is a bit smaller than I would like for a large, but I'm just getting greedy because it's so good! Relaxed ambience, mostly nice people.

Tried Chez Claudette after googling best poutine places in Montreal, and it appeared on multiple lists. The menu is extensive with many poutines to choose from. There are also omlettes (breakfast only), sandwiches and burgers. They do not have a menu in English, but our server was a friendly gentleman and gladly pointed out the top 5 poutines.I had the Fermiere poutine (a top 5, which included sausage, bacon, onion, mushroom) and my friends had the montreal smoked meat poutine, and a burger that came with a classic poutine on the side. The poutines were good, and the gravy was flavourful but was definitely on the the salty side. The large is a generous portion and included a lot of toppings... however we all found that the meat was also extremely salty. We all ordered our own individual large poutine but next time would probably share, as it is a lot of food. Did not try the burger, but was told it was delicious. With so many poutine restaurants in Montreal, I'd probably try another place next time I'm in Montreal. However, seemed like there were many locals eating inside so that's a good sign!

How this only has 4.3 stars is baffling, this place was absolutely incredible! So many poutines to choose from and they're all amazing. The man working front was hilarious and a treat to chat with! The décor is also very cool as they do a good job of making you feel like you're back in the 60s. I'd eat here every day if I could!

Wide variety of poutine. As first timers we had the classic. Friendly service.

Sadly after years of going i will not come back. The last Poutine i ordered the cheese wasn’t good. It would break apart into tiny pieces and the taste was sour. The two i ordered were the same. We didn’t eat them. Called back no answer. Friday June 30th 2023

Came here as a group of 5 on a Tuesday night at 730. We sat right away and there was lot of tables available. There is no English menu but we managed to figure it out between guessing and google translate. For my wife and I we ordered a Greek salad and the smoked meat Poutine. The Greek salad was a bit disappointing having just been to Greece a month before, served with Italian dressing. We would order the Caesar next time. The smoked meat Poutine was decent, but my wife didn't like the smoked meat. The gravy was quite tasty, not too salty, and the cheese was a good level of meltyness. My sister had the chicken and peas Poutine and she quite enjoyed it. I did try some chicken and it was a bit dry but it came with a lot of cheese. I would note that the larges are quite large and likely can be shared between two, especially if paired with a salad.Decemt Poutine but what we had at Schwartz was notable better.

I've got to say, we absolutely loved the gravy and the cheese curds in this poutine. We ordered the Elvis and the Smoked meat poutine for a party of two and almost finished everything despite the relatively large portion sizes. We preferred the Elvis as we found the smoked meat to be a little salty. The Elvis also comes with veggies which add more flavor and help cut through the heavy meal. This place can get pretty busy with take out orders so if you're sitting in, you'll have to be patient about service. Nonetheless, the service is very friendly and happily chatted with us and regulars that came by. You pay for your meal at the counter when you're done with your meal.
