After reading all the other reviews I was honestly a bit scared to stay here and was bracing for the worst, but truly it was fine. The rooms were very average, the food was good. The pool was good. They could have been more on the ball about pool towels (we kept having to ask for more). We called ahead and asked for a crib. The only had a pack and play, which we had so that was a bit annoying since they told us on the phone they had a crib. But not the end of the world.The only super annoying part was nothing to do with the hotel, Calgary closed the road for a race so the parking lot was completely blocked in. Otherwise, this is a totally acceptable hotel to stay at. Don't let the negative reviews scare you.

Convenient location, close to LRT and buses. Chinook mall is near by. Lots of restaurants around. My room was facing MacLeod Tr. Kinda noisy. Friendly staff members. Easy check in and out. Okay breakfast selections between 6:30AM - 9:30AM. Swimming pool with slides. Pool closes at 9PM so plan your time wisely.

I noticed the hotel responded to a review here for that young family that was lied to and threatened by the hotel manager. I happened to be there!…the hotel response to that review here is fabricated and a lie and not true at all and does not represent what happened...I was there checking out and witnessed the situation and I heard the hotel manager screaming, threatening and insulting a young family who had kids in the pool at 10:45am. Manager threatened that he will add extra charges for room service if they don’t leave within 1 minute. The parents explained that they requested 1pm during reservation and now they had kids in the pool, hotel manager said don’t care drag your kids out directly outside. When questioned about 1 minute, he simply replied that “I am the manager here and I can do what I want and you can’t prove anything! Screaming at parents and their infant and was crunching his teeth and infants were in fear and crying. This is true oppression and bullying. When I noticed the manager being unprofessional, I just left and we will never return back there again. I just felt bad for that family. I hope they make a formal complain. It seems because of the busy season, the hotel management has temper issues and doesn’t care about all the negative reviews here and seems to want to bully whenever they feel like it. I’m surprised Choice Hotels doesn’t see all these massive negative reviews on this hotel management and doesn’t get involved in this unprofessional and bullying behavior! If I have not been there and witnessed the situation, people would have believed the hotel review here.

Deceiving & Disrespectful Hotel Manager. Room was found dirty. Queen bed seem as a double bed. Loud music from surroundings and couldn't sleep. Manager threatens to kick us out early and apply extra charges unjustly. Worst Hotel Ever! Don't waste your money there!

Thankfully, I didn’t pay a dime for this hotel stay. Service was actually quite good. When I checked in, I was given a complimentary upgrade from a King Bed Room to a King Suite. There were a few times I needed some toiletries and they were provided to me with no charge.However, unfortunately the location isn’t the best and the windows of the rooms are clearly not sound proofed. The window of the bedroom was facing MacLeod trail. It was very easy to hear cars driving by as the street is a very busy street. Twice in my 4 night stay, I was woken up in the middle of the night by a maintenance worker in the parking lot across the street using a blower to clean the parking lot. It sounded like the worker was inside my room. If you stay at this hotel, ensure to request a room on the side that is facing behind the building. The hot breakfast did offer the usual items: sausage patty, scrambled eggs, waffles, different types of breads, cereals and juices.
