First time at this restaurant and I will say it was amazing.Restaurant is small and very beautiful,the staff were friendly and the food was amazing. We will definitely be back

Food was great and service was friendly but a little slow given there was only one server working that night. I loved the pastas and snails but would pass on the Panna cotta next time. Parking is tight as it shares the lot with the Italian market.

The food was really good and filling. We had bruschetta, mussels, and prawns for appetizers. For dinner we had a seafood pasta and fettuccine Alfredo. The Alfredo was very rich. All of the food was great, but service was a bit slow. This was understandable as we were a table of 12 though. Sad that they didn’t have calamari but will have to try next time.

Hands down best Italian in Calgary! Small, family owned- excellent service and food is on point. Shared a bottle of wine, appetizer, veal and dessert, reasonably priced and perfect date spot! 10/10-100%

It's been more than 10 yrs since we have been to this restaurant and sadly I was disappointed. This used to be a favorite when we lived near here and we decided to try it again. Maybe my expectations are higher now but The food here was just ok. good but not amazing but good. The service was not good. 40 min for someone to come and take our drink order, and then almost 25 more min to get the drinks and the take our order. So it was more than an hour before our food orders were taken. It was busy but they are so short staffed. The whole experience was 2 hr 45 min from our arrival to leaving. Also parking was not available in the lot and we had to find street parking.

Great atmosphere.We came here on Friday 6:30, not overly busy.Food is top notch.We ordered calamari to start. It tastes very fresh, not rubbery at all, coated with tomatoe, garlic and onion sauce. It doesn't taste as greasy as the conventional deep fried breaded calamari.Carbonara is perfect! Although there are plenty of bacon (not pancetta), it doesn't taste oily at all. The parmigiano and egg give perfect saltiness and creaminess to the spaghetti.

The food here is simple and delicious! Nothing fancy with their plating. No frills but exceptionally tasty food. I had the Prawns and Angel Hair Pasta. The prawns were plenty and quite large. Perfect amount of spice. My bf had the Seafood Linguine which he thoroughly enjoyed. We went on a Saturday and although the restaurant wasn’t full (about 7 tables), I didn’t feel like the two servers were enough for that evening. We waited a while for our bill to come and also to get our leftovers packed. The server also seemed a little annoyed at us when we asked for a take out box the second time. To be fair they did seem very busy but perhaps they needed some extra help. Overall I would definitely return as the food is amazing. Maybe next time on a weekday.

The interior of the restaurant looked super fancy and expensive. Food was absolutely perfect. Had the Spaghetti with red sauce and it was honestly one of the best pastas I’ve had in a long time. 10/10 recommend this place if you’re craving some Italian food. :)

My friend and I visited Il Chianti this evening after a long day of moving from B.C. to Calgary. I will admit that we were not looking our best and upon entering the establishment, chatted with the host/Waitress and humbly asked if we were appropriately dressed to dine in. She seated us and thus began our experience. The dining experience from the service side was horrible, the waitress seemed to have a bee in her bonnet the whole evening. Upon asking if she was having a bad night (she appeared to be the only service staff), she replied that she was having a great night and thought we were mad at her for having to wait twenty minutes for our drinks, and then wanted to argue with us. I don’t believe for one minute that the customer is always right, that is a false statement in most cases. In this case, we were treated poorly, and not checked on once to see how the food was. On a positive note, the food was incredible and huge compliments to the chef. This is the first time I have ever been made to feel uncomfortable in an establishment, and for that reason, I will never go back. As well, this is the first time in my lifetime that I did not leave a tip. Sorry if you had a bad day, but your customers that come in to support your business should never have to pay for your petty behaviour.
