Ridge Meadows Hospital

I’m giving this hospital a 1 star review, but not because they have terrible staff, as they have great staff. The 1 star review is for how hard they make it for people to help care for family members admitted here. Your nurses are seriously overwhelmed with their patient load, so I should be able to get my mother a simple cup of water or basin of water to help clean her up. Nope, gotta ring the call bell, which is immediately dismissed and have to wait forever for a nurse or health care aid to come in for something so simple. What’s with that? You’d think you’d be happy for the help with the simple things to help free up nurses time for the difficult things.

Hospital should learn first what is the emergency depart is what is the emergency is . We were waiting for 6 hr and still not number came. We pay tax so we can have better facility and service totally unorganized .

Cannot thank enough the emergency dept doctors and nurses for their support yesterday when I reached with my two year old girl. She had a minor head injury scary enough, but they did best to help us. I could see them struggling to get an ambulance to bc children’s hospital. But they took good care of her primary needs.

Would literally drive to any other hospital rather than risk seeking care here. Went in to emergency for extreme stomach pain and was left in the waiting room for over 4 hours, then was told “Oh you’re still here? We thought you left”. Staff shortages are understandable, but I have never known anyone that has had a positive experience here.

Waited for 7 hours in Emergency before seeing a doctor.Suffering with a kidney stone, in unbearable pain, sitting on the floor, nauseous, lips turning blue and muscles cramping before the nurses gave a room. I feel it was wrong to wait for so long in that amount of pain and they let about 5 others ahead who were in no apparent pain at all,,, even laughing,Not too sure how they work the priority patients system.Highly reccomend if you are in serious pain to go elsewhere,,

I fell off my horse a few weeks ago. I didn't go to the hospital at the time, but my pinky finger was not improving, so I went to Emergency. Though busy, the Staff was professional, friendly, and kind. While there were times I was waiting, I got triaged, X-rayed and seen by a Doctor in less than 3 hrs. Pretty amazing considering how busy they were, and what a low priority my 'injury' is! I left with peace of mind and advice, time well spent.

Was hesitant because of reviews but was finally taken seriously about my issue, waited about 2 hours to see the doctor was in an out quicker than expected. Nurse was also very kind and caring.Only comment is check-in staff should be more empathetic and not talk loudly about the people waiting for care.

I have spent several weeks at Ridge Meadows over the last few years. Always had very good care on both the emergency and surgical floors. Staff were always kind and attentive. For a small city we are very fortunate to have RMH.. We do hundreds of Cataract surgeries from the all over the lower mainland.

We delivered our baby here as a last resort because our local hospital had a staff shortage. OB Midwives and nurses were amazing The only downfall was the hospital food but otherwise thank you to everyone in the maternity ward. DR lampen was fantastic OB.

maple ridge hospital is One of the best hospitals in all of bc. thank you to the kind nurses and doctors who work so hard to treat clients! i hope we can get more funding for the hospitals as we need them more than ever as we all deal with serious health aliments.
