My older children started at Stratford BJJ in march of 2014 and I started in June of 2014, both instructors: Ryan O'Shea and Donald Emerson are more then patient while teaching the children in their kids BJJ program. As a member of the adult BJJ class at Stratford BJJ I have nothing but good things to say about Ryan O'shea and the way he teaches his BJJ students and the way he breaks the technique down so that it is easy to comprehend and learn

I was in Stratford visiting a friend, joined for a class and was amazed at how welcoming the environment is. Ryan (head instructor) took the time to personally show me some moves appropriate to my skill level (complete beginner) and broke it down into easy, understandable steps. When it came to rolling all the students were more than willing to help me and to show me some useful and practical techniques. There is no bravado and people rolled as hard or as light as they wanted. If I lived in the area I would 100% sign up at this dojo.

I don't live in the stratford area but I checked out this gym soon after it opened as I am always interested in new facilities in this up and coming sport. Ryan and Don have a good thing going; I expected to see some kinks in the operation as it was just recently opened but they are strong instructors and have a great facility. I'm looking forward to getting back to the gym soon to see its development. Definitely the best option for BJJ and kick boxing in the area, and I'm sure it will start producing talent to rival more established Toronto gyms in the near future.

My home away from home. My son and I been training here for coming up on a year. Between the two of us I end up there 5 or 6 days a week. Excellent instruction. Excellent community of people, as other reviewers have noted, it feels like a family. Awesome schedule and availability of classes.Don't be afraid to try it out! Free 30 Day trial. The Black belt owner Ryan is the least pushy individual possible. You aren't going to get pressured or forced into anything. Come check out some classes. If you're a good fit, you'll know it right away. I can remember being scared to go to my first class. It seems so silly now, as it was love at first roll. Typically I hate exercise and cardio, but this is the opposite.Can't recommend more highly.

My son and I joined 6 weeks ago and we are both down 10 lbs. Excellent life lessons of a martial art in a very supportive atmosphere. Ryan is great and this is fun.

Ryan is the hidden gem of bjj in Stratford, his school and classes in Stratford is very welcoming, and personally I have trained in bjj for a few months and had looked around for a few schools, and bjj is all about a positive learning environment, which Ryan provides to all his students. At first I had brought my girl friend here because she wanted to learn kick boxing, and because the vibe is so good at the gym, she also became interested in bjj which really shows for how good the learning environment is here.Anyone who is curious or interested in bjj, boxing, kick boxing or fitness in general should drop in for a few classes!

Amazing group of people to train with! I went in knowing no martial art and having very little fitness capabilities but everyone exhibited great patience and support. I couldn't have asked for a more engaging art and supportive team to get involved with!
