Ginger Jar Furniture

I bought a Gama sofa and 2 Stressless chairs in 2013. All fabulous pieces.Now 9 years later the sofa needs a bit of work to revive the wear and tear. I contacted Ginger Jar for a referral for the work in January this year. They said they use Ambassador. I contacted them asap. I spent all of January following instructions to clean and condition said sofa in preparation. Apparently someone was retiring from Ambassador and/or they only worked with commercial entities only.Anyway, fellow said to follow instructions he emailed to me. I contacted Ambassador (all via email) in early February to try to arrange an appointment to come and do dying and/or whatever else needed to be done. Never heard anything for a week. After a week I called the number and fellow said he'd been so busy he never got around to it yet. Yes, I was frustrated and said so, at least he could reply to my email.I then asked him if he could recommend anybody. He implied he wouldn't trust anybody else. So I said, Are you the only game in town? He skirted around that and relayed scenarios where people hadn't been happy.I then called Ginger Jar a day or 2 later and asked them for another referral. The woman said Ambassador is the only outfit they use, would get someone to call me back. That was in 3rd week of February or thereabouts. Today is April 10th and NO ONE has called.They have nice furniture but beware of trying to maintain anything you buy there unless you're a commercial enterprise because there is NO follow-up service.Frustrated and agitated - Rose

Very happy with all the employees who work at Ginger Jar furniture store in North Vancouver, especially for Linda Bartlett, she is so amazing, very friendly, very accommodating. I highly recommend for people who want to buy any house whole furnishing to that store first before you made the decision to buy from somewhere else.

We fell in love with the occasional chair from Rolf Benz, amazing and stylish, but also with reasonable price! Ginger Jar is a wonderful place to furniture shop with a wide variety of great pieces for indoor and outdoor.I must add that the customer service is fantastic. I love dealing with Fahime as she is not only sunshine everyday but is extremely efficient and knows her product lines.Sovet Italia is a line they carry and would highly recommend for dining tables and chairs. It is gorgeous and excellent quality.

I have purchased a couple of pieces of furniture from Ginger Jar in the past, a while ago. I had a very helpful person at the end of the line, super helpful and professional. It is nice to sill encounter such a good service!

Wanted to buy an American Leather sleeper sofa, but didn't want to travel from Mission to North Van just to look at the fabric swatches (I knew the model I wanted). Fahime very patiently laid out the costs for each grade of fabric by email, and then sent me pictures of the fabrics I was interested in based on the website pictures. I get that this is a high-end shop and good service is to be expected, but I was still very impressed by how helpful Fahime was. Sure hope I like what I chose without even seeing it! Will find out in 8 weeks or so...

We had an extremely disappointing experience with both Ginger Jar and the furniture manufacturer Bontempi, the Italian furniture factory.After buying 8 chairs and a very special expensive dining table.Chairs at a cost of around $1,000 each you would expect them to last for many many years at least 10 years plus, unfortunately with limited use chairs ripped at the seams within 3 to 4 years, my wife and I are self employed and have worked hard to earn, be in a position to purchase what we thought was Quality solid furniture! After the problem occurred we reached out to our Sales Assistant at Ginger Jar for help on several occasions to try and resolve this very bad quality issue, even suggesting willing to pay cost for the upper chair part that screws to the legs, which we could have replaced ourselves.However, instead of offering helpful options or taking responsibility for the issue, both companies were uncooperative and did not want to help us. It is unacceptable for a business to treat their customers with such disregard and lack of care, customers work hard to earn there comforts and need to be treated with value and respect. I strongly advise anyone considering purchasing from Ginger Jar or Bontempi from any retailer to really reconsider and find a company that prioritizes long term customer satisfaction. This in our experience is not Well made high Quality Furniture and is not made to last for the price paid ! The Owner should re-evaluate the company approach on how to handle dissatisfied customers! We recently bought some chairs here, and the service was amazing. Linda B was great and took the time to show us all the different options and followed up by email when we had additional questions. She arranged for quick delivery before the holidays. The selection of European furniture is nice, and the great service really makes a difference!
