No clue who reviewed this a 4 star but they're crazy. Fantastic view of Killarney Park with a challenging but rewarding hike up to the top. We did it in a tight 4 hours but 5 hours is a safe bet. Best views of Ontario's changing fall colours I've seen

I've climbed Silver Peak 4 times so far, and it maintains as my favourite hike! If you want to hike directly from camp, I suggest trying to snag one of the sites on David Lake that connect up to the trail

Prepare for a 5 hour, ~20 km day. 6.5 km canoe (in and out from Bell Lake) and 13 km hike up and down the peak. Worth it!

Silver peak is certainly a worthy highlight of the Killarney backcountry experience. We hiked off of a campsite on David Lake. One of my favourite provincial park experiences. Relatively easy hike. Can't wait to go back to do The Crack. Visited October 2022

A must do! We started our day by renting a canoe from Killarney Outfitters at Bell Lake. We then canoed to 3km to the trailhead which is 4km up and 4km return. The summit is amazing. Bring snacks and lots of water!

Silver Peak is truly an amazing site. Ontario has very few natural high points like this one. The la Cloche Mountain range is a truly unique and spectacular geological phenomenon that everyone (Ontarians) should experience. Most of the hike is effortless in the summer catering to all ages. I suggest sturdy foot ware as the end of the hike can be steep.

Hike up in the dead of winter can be a surreal yet exhausting experience. Park on Johnnie Lake Road and ski up through Johnnie, Crooked, Brush Camp and Clearsilver Lake. Park the skis then snowshoe up. 33km round trip, give yourself time!

A great hike NOT to be missed. We took the Bell Lake access route - canoed 3.3 km to reach the start point of the hike and then hiked for about 6.5 km to reach to the top. Same distance back (13 km hike plus 6.6 km canoeing). Including the picnic/photoshoot at the top, and taking mini breaks in between, we were able to finish this in 7 hours. Bring lots of water and some snacks. Carry bug spray and a sun hat. Do not underestimate this hike. It is challenging but well worth the result. Endurance and pacing is the key. The views from the top are breath-taking. After doing this, you will find the Crack less intensive :)

We canoed from our campsite on Norway Lake. We underestimated the distance. We ended up being 14km to the top of Silver Peak. It was a well rounded mix of terrain ranging from climbing rocks to lowlands forest sections. Well worth the 9hrs to do 28kms (round trip back to portage point at Norway Lake). Unbelievable view
