Meaghan did an awesome job on both our doggos. 6 lbs Morkie and 60lbs Golden Doodle (before and after pics). Highly recommend.

Meghann and the Pawlour are top notch. She’s very punctual and clear with communications via text messages. The services are fantastic and I love that my buddy Yukon gets to socialize a bit with other dogs before pickup. Other groomers would have him in a crate while he waits for pickup. Prices are also very competitive. I’ve already recommended The Pawlour to friends and family and will continue to do so.

I owned a wheaten terrier and had no problems with her going to the groomers . Till my groomer moved away and I have never seen so many groomers that refused to groom a elderly dog. Then we met up with the owner of The Pawlour. She’s a Beautiful person and cares for the animals she works with. Rusti and I love her. She has the gentle touch!

We have been taking our dog Leo to Meaghan for 4.5 years or so, Meaghan’s actual grooming skills are wonderful and she has always treated my dog with love and care, however, her lack of communication, constantly cancelling appointments last minute, or simply not even being at the salon when we have shown up for an appointment is extremely unprofessional. For context, our usual appointments have been at 4:30pm or 5pm on Wednesday’s or Thursday’s for the last several years and we have been paying $65 for our 25lb dog Leo to be groomed. We have always had a very friendly relationship with Meaghan, she has often asked to reschedule appointments very last minute and I have always been fine with this and worked with her to find new times. She was recently injured which is completely understandable and I’m sure frustrating trying to manage a business during an injury, however our appt was coming up so I reached out asking if we would need to reschedule or if she had a recommendation for a substitute groomer while she was off. Our dog has very thick fur so trying to keep to a regular schedule is important for his comfort especially in the warmer months. I received a few texts saying she would know more soon etc but didn’t offer a substitute from her salon and I had to follow up several more times. She finally rescheduled Leo in about 2 weeks after his original groom date and when I showed up (it is a 30 min drive from my house), the lights were off and doors were locked. I called and texted but didn’t hear back from Meaghan until the next day. She was apologetic as she had put the wrong date in, but I did ask for a discount due to her not being at the salon when we showed up for our rescheduled appointment - I did also state that if she was unable to do so, it was all good. This is a common ask for any business who makes an error that is fully on them and negatively impacts the customer. I didn’t receive any response from Meaghan for over a month. When our next appointment was coming up, I had to reach out 3 separate times to ask if everything was still good to go (given she never replied to my previous text) and she ignored me. I finally got a response two days before his appt confirming everything was good to go. On the day of the appointment I received a lengthy text from Meaghan not only cancelling Leo’s appointment again, but telling us he was not welcome back. She stated that she had always given us a discount as her regular price is $75 for Leo’s size dog, but never had she told me there was a price increase or said anything when I continued to pay the $65 every visit. She also stated that she has been making exceptions to groom Leo after hours - again, not something I was aware of. We have always planned our appointments 6 months to a year in advance and she has always provided me the 4:30 or 5pm times. If a price increase or time changes had been told to us, we would have adjusted or paid more. Not only is this frustrating to a dog owner who simply asked for a discount due to the salon’s error, but it is absolutely awful to do this to my dog the day of his appointment, a grooming business should be looking out for animals and doing this esp in the summer (knowing salons all have a wait list) is completely wrong to do to our senior dog who is now over-grown and so hot and itchy. Meaghan had been ignoring me for weeks, if she planned on asking us not to return, she could have at the very least given us some notice for the sake of our dog if nothing else. While Meaghan is great at her grooming skills, this entire experience has been so disheartening especially coming from a long time client that has always been understanding of her cancellations/reschedules. Asking for a discount one time due to her not showing up to an appointment and then being asked to leave permanently is extremely unprofessional. Her lack of communication & management of this situation is unacceptable from a business standpoint.

EDIT: Meaghan's response is concerningly disingenuous - At the end of September, she told me that Winnie's appointments would be ready over the next couple of days. I messaged and called her at the end of October, and again in the middle of November, just to ask for updates (based on her provided timeline). I figured she might just be busy with the year wrapping up, and figured I would check back in once businesses opened back up after the holidays. When I booked an appointment through the website in January, my appointment was never accepted, but I didn't think much of it. I tried texting Meaghan to ask again if it was possible to book appointments in advance for the year, and my message never sent. I then tried calling and it rang once and went to voicemail.Again, Meaghan is a great groomer - but the frustration is not about immediate answers, a quick and easy booking process, or a schedule of service - it is a complete unwillingness to communicate as well as an unprofessional inability to meet her own deadlines. Any attempt to brush this off as an impatient customer or someone who is not understanding is disingenuous; waiting 4 months is unacceptable, but I never heard back at all.ORIGINAL REVIEW:I took my dog to Meaghan for a year and had nothing but great experiences. My dog loved going there and I knew she was well taken care of always and always in great spirits when I came to pick her up.The issue is not the quality of service, but rather the lack of communication. At my last appointment, I spoke with Meaghan about doing a year's worth of pre-bookings which she said is awesome. Meaghan told me that her booking system was being changed and that she would manually give me appointments over the next few days. After a couple of weeks, I had not received any appointment notifications, so I reached out. She told me that she was still working on the website and that I was next on the list" and could expect appointments over the next couple of days. A full month later

We moved to Bowmanville 2 yrs ago and had a hard time finding a new local pet groomer. Meaghan has been Grooming our Havanese Licorice for the past year and we are really satisfied with her services! We are regulars at The Pawlour.
