Elope Guelph

Our experience with Elope Guelph is at best a 3/5. Before signing up for their packages Mary was very nice and accommodating. Originally on their website the Sunday Sweet Ceremony was listed at $899 and I had booked our wedding date for that price. In an email Mary told me that their Friday to Sunday packages are $999, and when I pointed out that Sunday is listed at $899 on their website, she said it was a typo and had their webmaster change it immediately. In an email Mary told me that she would still honour the $899 price for us, since at the time we saw their website it was listed as such. We were very thankful and appreciated that so much that we booked the date and sent our deposit.A week before our wedding when we were about to pay the rest of the package fee, I emailed Mary to confirm that they were still honouring the $899 price we had discussed due to the mistake on their website. I attached a screenshot of the email where she specifically said she would honour it, and Mary called me to say that the old price was $899 PLUS a $20 fee per guest (which was never mentioned when we signed up or agreed on that price). I told her the $20 fee was not mentioned on their website when we signed up, but she told me it had always been there. She then proceeded to calculate how much it would cost us to go with the $899 price + our guests, and never acknowledged the email I sent her with the screenshot. Mary said that we would actually pay over $1K if we went with the $899 price so of course at that point we had no choice but to concede and go with the $999. This really disappointed us because despite our earlier agreement, with proof, it felt like they tried to backtrack what they told us so we would pay the $999. For us this felt very unprofessional and while we had a good ceremony it didn't feel right that Mary told us she would honour a price and later on did not, as well as ignoring the proof we had of what she said.John was a pleasure to work with on the day of the ceremony. He was very accommodating and friendly and is the main reason this rating is not lower.

Elope Guelph was beyond our expectations! John and Mary were so easy to work with and made our day stress free. We were able to enjoy our day together and not worry about a thing. John did an amazing job during our ceremony. The mini reception was spectacular, we could not have dreamed of a better day. Everything was beautiful!

John & Mary are wonderful hosts! We had the most stress-free wedding day with just our family. Everything from the décor to the photographer was great quality. We would definitely recommend Elope Guelph to anyone looking for a small, simple and romantic ceremony.

I highly recommend Elope Guelph to anyone looking to have a small, intimate wedding! I loved that they offer several different packages to choose from.The website is well done and has all of the info you need. Mary was wonderful to work with, great communication during the planning stages and John did a wonderful job as our officiant.They provided our photographer who did an excellent job, he was funny & easygoing and made the photos fun for everyone!The venue is lovely: rustic and simple and perfect for a small intimate ceremony.We are very happy we decided to get married at Elope Guelph! Cannot say anough good things.We eloped here in april it was very nice, clean and very rustic feeling. We had our own little suite that was very cute! John and Mary were very communicative along the whole process and were very kind and knowledgeable with all of our questions!

We had a lovely experience with Mary and John. We never had any difficulties and they made the wedding smooth and effortless, exactly like we were hoping for! The venue was beautiful and the photographer took amazing photos.Would definitely recommend for a small and intimate wedding.

My husband and I got married on May 28, 2002. It was exactly what we expected and it was literally the most perfect day. The venue is breathtaking and John and Mary are the sweetest people. We could not ask for a better wedding. Thank you!

Aug 16th, 2022 was an extremely special day. Not only was I marrying my best friend, I was fortunate enough to be married at Elope Guelph. From the 1st email I sent, I knew this place was very special. Dealing with Mary and John couldn’t have been easier. Mary made me feel like I was the only upcoming bride in the world and John made us so comfortable and at ease during the ceremony. I don’t like to throw the word “perfect” around just willy-nilly, so when I say that Every. Single. Detail. Was. Perfect…. I mean it wholeheartedly. We knew we were in capable hands, but they exceeded in giving us the best wedding possible. I also want to acknowledge John the Photographer. He was fun, personable and professional. Our wedding pictures are again, so beyond our expectations. If you’re looking for an intimate gathering place to share in your most memorable day, reach out to John and Mary.
