The Alberta Ombudsman ruled that I was treated unfairly during my complaint review process by ABVMA.

Horrible!!!! I read what this vet office did to a poor dog! How dare they mistreat someone that is considered as family to someone. They have no shame!!! Please do not take your pets here!!!

To all you guys posting bad reviews on behalf of #teamCZR, you have the wrong place. This is not a vet clinic, and they don't examine or handle animals here. This is the governing body of all vet clinics in Alberta. They just voted to make declawing illegal so that earns them 5 stars in my view.

Thank you for always being there to answer our million questions (as a new clinic, we really didn't have a clue -about so many things, and you were there to help!). A big thanks to all of your staff, we've had a few chuckles that's for sure! As for all of the bad reviews, do they not know that the ABVMA is not a vet clinic?!-Natasha

If I could give this place a zero I would. They injured someones dog and caused permanent damage to this animal and they will not take responsibility. They have bullied and threatened the owner bc she is trying to get justice for what was done to her dog. They lie, they mishandle pets, they are not in this for the right reasons which is the care and wellbeing of an animal. I would not trust this place to care for any of my animals.

A complaint regarding unprofessional conduct and animal cruelty is being sent to the Alberta Veterinary Medical Association regarding Dr. Emily Mcewen. I would strongly advise any pet owner not to use Dr. Emily Mcewen.

This place killed my friends dog and are lying and trying to cover it up. There’s too many details to write here and would probably disturb anyone reading this. After reading the rest of the reviews I think it’s about time to start a class action against this place and shut them down once and for all so they can’t harm or kill any more animals. !!!

I filed a complaint back in September 2021 against Dr. Karagic (Alpine 24/7 Pet Hospital) for not providing me a medical record and misdiagnosis (tooth needing to be removed - in reality, hair loss was due to an allergy and the teeth were fine).The process has been lengthy and has recently been closed with ABVMA sweeping this complaint under the rug.My complaint (along with the names of the vets I saw and their diagnosis after seeing Dr. Karagic was also included in my complaint) was provided to Dr. Karagic by ABVMA before they even requested my file from Dr. Karagic. Apparently my information was given to Dr. Karagic “in fairness” of the investigation…when I am not able to obtain my file from his clinic?Dr. Karagic then proceeded to call two vets (whom I had seen after Dr. Karagic) without my consent to obtain my file…to create a new file?A file that was full of inconsistencies and misinformation was given to me (he wrote down the name of a vet clinic that I had never been to at that time. He claimed to have checked my cats back legs which have nothing to do with a dental exam, and the fact that everything he stated that he had checked and discussed could not have been done in a ten minute appointment etc.)Apparently, ABVMA thinks that this is ok.Dr. Karagic was given more time by the ABVMA to respond to my complaints (past his deadlines to respond to my complaints) and did not even respond to my last complaint while I met all of the deadlines required by ABVMA.Apparently, ABVMA thinks that this is ok.They continued to make excuses for Dr. Karagic’s misdiagnosis when it is quite clear that he had no idea why he himself was stating such a diagnosis.When I requested a review of my earlier dismissed complaint prompting the investigation to be reviewed again, they simply closed the whole process, stating that there was “no evidence that the medical records were altered” and “insufficient evidence of unprofessional conduct” against Dr. Karagic.I’ve questioned the legitimacy of ABVMA throughout the process of this investigation and I now question them more than ever.
