I'm naturally skeptical of life coaches and other professional self-styled guru types. But I felt desperate for some career guidance as I'm sure most of us have during this pandemic. Gracie was quoted in a Chicago Tribune article about career counseling. I decided to give her a shot given that she also published a book on the topic. Look, she knows what she's doing. She puts herself in your shoes. She empathizes with you. She gets to know you. You gotta put the work in too which requires really looking in the mirror. She isn't going to tell you what to do. But the way she uses questions to help you guide your own development - from the big-picture, value-defining, ambiguous phase down to those specific career-finding tactics you never thought of - is simply brilliant. It's truly a personalized service. You have to be a good, selfless person at heart to love this kind of work. It's not for everyone. But it is for Gracie. She's doing what she was meant to do. It was a pleasure to work with her and I'll stay in touch with her (she wants to know what happens with you after you're done with the sessions). I couldn't recommend her enough.

Words can't express my heartfelt gratitude for the guidance I received from Gracie during our time together. I reached out to Gracie with the hopes of helping me figure out what I wanted to do next with my career. From our first phone call, I was impressed with her ability to dig in and ask questions to get me really thinking about what I value and what I enjoy doing. In the last 9 months Gracie has really helped me overcome barriers and turn my creative ideas into tangible actions. Launching a consulting practice has been a huge challenge for me.
