Applewood Heights Secondary School

Overall a a smooth highschool experience and most teachers were good except for a few bad apples (no pun intended) like Mr.Elias.

Legendary high school. PartyNextDoor, RuthlessRich, TillFILM, FortuneBoy, Jay Wray, Izzy, Illy, TurnUpVlone, Yung Sav, TStayzStackin, Jooklyn, Peja P, JT, JT, DK way too many names to name all graduated from here. If you want to become a future legend go to Applewood!

They engage students with innovative teaching methods, interactive lessons, and a personalized approach that caters to different learning styles. My child has grown tremendously under their guidance.

This is certainly not the greatest school in Mississauga and there are definitely many things the school should improve on. The reason I'm posting this is because I'm hoping the school could improve on these issues.1. Teachers- There are a very few great teachers I have met so far and quite are few of them are helpful. But I have to say some teachers can't teach and they are very unprofessional.- Most teachers should focus more on building relationship with their students and some should start learning their names instead of calling them people ".- Some teachers lack a positive attitude and fail to foster perseverance in class which make a lot of kids look down on themselves.- Team coaches are very nice and happy. I love them- Support teachers are really helpful!2. Students- There are definitely A LOT of international students at this school which makes me think if they ever use that money to upgrade the school. Exceptions: The field and Bathroom sinks- Students are okay I guess? But some are really smart.3. Building- Since the school is very old

This school seriously need AC for the summer. During the winter, they also turn on the fan in the cafeteria. There are lot of counselors available for student. However, Miss Yen,M in charge of international student didn't do a good job. She wasn't helpful and informative about helping student picking courses, informative when advising student, and advice about immigration documentation.

The place is pretty old and is set on a busy road, but the staff is helpful and the admin is friendly. They have French immersion and AP programs, which help set them apart from other public schools -- and the halls are clean and quiet. Registering my sister here was fairly easy and counselor Sutton, along with Secretary Alvaro were at the forefront of making the process as possible as possible. Keep it up!

*Pre-COVID*Loved my experiences here. Staff were great, learned many of the skills I still use today. Hope the elevator is up and running; will bring more students with different backgrounds into our community.

Mr. Keleher is disrespectful as a teacher. He does not give students proper respect and treats them terribly. Additionally, he disregards students needs as if they are unimportant and always humiliates them. Very unprofessional on the school’s hand, and particularly on his hand as a teacher. Respect goes both ways, teachers like him need to be educated.

Applewood Heights is an excellent school where you get to know and learn new cultures, there are clubs, there are inclusive activities, there is everything, thanks Applewood Heights for everything.

I cannot understand why the school failed today to provide some students with their bus cards to be able to take the afternoon bus going back home. Plus they did not inform the bus driver to wait for couple of minutes to have all students on the bus. They had the whole day to provide the bus cards, but at the end they failed.Please be prepared, and stop using the excuses COVID-19" dayIt was the first day"."
