Booking my first appointment with Dr. Nelson Byrne was one of the best decisions I've made in my life. I am very grateful for his, as well as his team's help and support!

Was a little under the 24 hour cancelation time but needed to cancel due to having abrupt money issues. Instead of sympathizing with that, they just went ahead and took $200 anyways because the therapist came to a hard felt decision". Thanks Connect Cognitive Therapy for making things worse. Hope your already well off therapist enjoys his $200."

I will honestly stay away from here if you are looking for a physiologist with ethics. I went to two appointments with Dr Stacey Beach, the first one was okay, right at the hour she cut the appointment pretty harsh, i said ok. that is fine maybe she doesn't like to have the others patients wait. On my second visit she only saw me for 45 minutes instead of 60 minutes and charged me the same amount. My third visit was on a Monday after a long weekend holiday. I called first thing in the morning to explain that I could not make the appointment as I had urgent meetings at work, and that I didn't call before as Friday was a holiday. The receptionist was extremely rude and said that work" is not an emergency and that they will charge the full amount and that Dr Beach will call me if I wanted to speak with someone else. This was a 10:00am my visit was schedule for 3:00pm

When I booked my appointment via phone, the receptionist I spoke to was rude. However, I decided to let that go and still proceeded with my appointment. When I arrived at the clinic, there was no one present at the front desk for the entire 15 minutes I was waiting for my session to begin.I was also disappointed when my appointment did not last the entire 50 minutes. My session was suppose to start at 3:00pm but by the time my psychologist was finished with the previous client, it was already 3:03pm. Afterwards, she proceeded to use the restroom which took until 3:08pm. I was hoping some additional time would have been included but my session still finished at 3:50pm. I paid $180 per session without coverage so this is all out of my pocket and I find it unacceptable that the session did not last the stated duration.Although this situation does not apply directly to me, I find it somewhat peculiar this clinic allows people to practice as Mental Health Counsellors without having completed their Masters in Counselling. I was under the impression a Masters in Counselling was a mandatory credential prior in order to practice as a Mental Health Clinician and being registered in Ontario.

I have suffered from anxiety and panic attacks for years. I was absolutely thrilled to finally meet with a psychologist who I felt understood me and what I am going through. It has been hard work, I will admit, but I felt like I was in good hands every step of the way. I was a bit skeptical at first because I had to face my fears -- something I had avoided for years, and that caused me to feel even more anxiety at first -- but once I saw that I could do more than I thought and survived just fine, I was totally on board. I feel so relieved to now have been free of panic attacks for a whole 2 months! I have nothing but respect for the people who work at this place -- the nice thing is that they do not seem at all fake" -- they are *real* genuinely kind people and have a great sense of humour

I am so absolutely thrilled and appreciative of finding this clinic when I did a google search for working with a clinician for my mental health and possible ADHD. Below are just a handful of the many positives about this place. Note: I am in the same profession as well and run my own practice which is not affiliated with this clinic.1-Website is informative and easy to navigate2-I received a very helpful introductory email explaining the process of working with Dr. Byrne and a realistic waiting time to begin working with him as a client.3-The support staff such as the Receptionists have been so kind and helpful and patient. When you are dealing with mental health concerns, this type of support can be such a lifesaver. I have contacted them many times such as when booking an appointment, asking about payments, rescheduling, etc and they have always been just as kind and helpful as the first time I spoke to them. They are very professional as well, ie reply back within the said upon time frame, explain the payment policies, etc.4- Dr. Nelson Byrne is AMAZING. Like anyone else I was nervous at my first session with him since I was coming from a very stressful mindset and worried it would be hard for me to explain things. I've now had a few sessions with him and his first impression has lasted throughout. He is professional, yet down to earth, witty and easy to talk to. He is patient and open minded, extremely knowledgeable and able to help me gain understanding of what I was experiencing .He is the only mental health professional that I have personally worked with that was open minded about what I was experiencing and helped assess what the possible diagnosis was. I have experienced clinicians who are either quick to jump to a diagnosis or are adamantly against this; but he was open and curious and I felt my needs were heard. I never once felt dismissed or invalidated.5- The process and policies are professional, appropriate for this field and well explained in their consent process. For those that might get confused about late cancellations, rescheduling and timing of appointment and session length- I would highly recommend you review the policies at least twice and ask any questions that you might have. This avoids you feeling upset with a clinic and creating a misunderstanding. If you are looking for support then do not hesitate to contact this office!

Dr. Byrne is excellent. I have been seeing him for over a year now and he has helped me tremendously in dealing with my issues related to severe depression and anxiety. His approach to therapy is exceptional, and along with his skillset, knowledge, expertise, and experience, has helped me foster positive change in my life. I always look forward to seeing Dr. Byrne, and the profundity of my experiences with him keeps me coming back (even when things are going well). I strongly recommend seeing Dr. Byrne, even just for an initial assessment, to get a feel" for therapy
