Stephen is an excellent, experienced, and professional instructor with a great -and respectful!- sense of humor. As an adult learner I was very nervous when I got into the driver's seat for the very first time. Stephen helped me overcome my nervousness and taught me how to drive in downtown Halifax! Stephen will teach you how to drive defensively and how to avoid collisions or any other dangerous situations in traffic. I moved away which is why I could not complete my program with him but Stephen prepared me very well for the road and my road test. Thank you!

Steve is undoubtedly the calmest teacher you can ever have. He will scold in a polite way, when you make mistakes but you should listen to his words and follow the rules. Taking a road test more than 35 years after the first one, is highly stressful. With Stephen’s excellent guidance and instruction I was able to pass the road test comfortably. Stephen gave me the confidence I needed and also significantly improved my driving skills.My only regret is that I did not have Stephen as my driving instructor 40 years ago when I was learning to drive.

Hands down the best teacher if you want to learn how to drive and get your license. It took me 15 years to get the courage and confidence to drive, Stephen helped me though. He is also funny, great teacher and a just person to talk to but more importantly learn from. He is good with people who has anxiety, he stays calm with you and works with you. Stephen is probably the best driving instructor in the area. Driving with him is always a learning experience, as he doesn’t overlook any detail. I benefited immensely from Stephen’s careful and precise guidance and feel confident about driving now. He brings humor and patience to teaching and is very professional. I passed the driving test first try with only 4 pts lost, which I attribute to Stephen’s instruction. The 25-hour classroom instruction was also extremely beneficial. Thank you, Stephen!

I had a great experience learning with Stephen, very patient, polite and professional instructor, not to mention very experienced too. It took me three attempts to pass the road test, but I take the responsibility for first two failed attempts. I passed my driving test on my first attempt. I would give the credit to Steve for his excellent skills in training naive drivers like me. This driving license means a lot to me personally. All my life I thought driving is not for me and I kept it aside. I'm 35+, I decided to pursue driving with no experience or knowledge of driving whatsoever. Stephen was so patient, encouraging and understanding at all times. He was very skillful to handle worst mistakes and yet not to startle the training driver. Steve Pitman is the best driving instructor in Halifax. I have always had anxiety about driving but i took his course and road test package and passed my driving test on the first go around. Perfect for anyone who needs help learning to drive. He is also great with older students like me who missed the boat back when we were 16. Great value and hands on driving experience.
