Basic food. Nothing special. Menu is severely overpriced.Pizza definitely didn't come from a pizza oven - no good charing on it. Cheese looked like Dominos Pizza Didn't even finish it as it was underwhelming. Maybe the Chef needs to check Basic pizza work from a franchise like Famuso at bare minimum?The short rib was basic and plating sloppy. Mashed potatoes were like stewed in with mashed up carrots. Literally looked like it came from an instapot.The Chef in charge of the menu needs to be reviewed or fired. Clearly has no passion for food.An entree and one drink for 2 people came to $125. Not worth it in my opinion.Many amazing resteraunts in downtown that are much better than this place.

We arrived on time but sadly our first 4 guest arrived 23 min late and our last 2 guest 51 min late. While the service was very friendly i would say is very slow and when waiting for a water refill could take a very long time. Now the fact that our guest could not arrive on time possibly affected this as we do understamd it is difficult to plan staffing with guest who are not on time. Half my drinks was missing the pickle and so did the drinks of one of our guest. The food was extremely salty but receiving our food so long aftet having planed to eat i was starving. I was done eating before been asked if everything was ok with my food. The food prep was very slow and am still waiting on my water refill as the amount of salt in the food has deff made me thisty. Everyone done eating for a while now bit we have not been asked if anyone wanted deaert so we dont know if they have some bit eventualy when we get our water we will ask if they do have some.

So this was my experience, located on the first floor there is an access lift for those with disabilities or you can take the stairs. Arriving there is a waiting to be seated area with seating all across the floor. The ambience is quiet and warm. Easily able to hold a conversation.The food was actually fantastic the flat bread and 3 dips was great though never enough pita bread we had to order 2x more but super tasty. The beef tartare was excellent too.Ok this is where it didn't go so well for the place out of X3 gin and tonics ordered X2 of the glasses served to me had chips on the rim sharp enough to cut. While apologetic more care and attention to the serving is definitely needed. The place is more up market so non chipped glasses kinda expected. A let down as I snagged my lip on a chip which alerted me to it in the first place.

Firstly I must day I absolutely felt in love with the interior decor and atmosphere of the restaurant. The staff is extremely friendly, efficient, and accommodating to our needs. Made good recommendations on the food and drinks. Love the truffle fries and the dirty lemonade as well as the charcuterie board. Would like to return again for music night as well as sitting outdoors or elsewhere to get that roof view.

Dropped in for a first time check around and was overjoyed with the experience. Looking forward to the next visit.The use of the former historical hotel has beautiful interior charm and character. The service is exceptional knowing the history of the hotel, and food menu items.Totally by chance it ended up being half price wine day so enjoyed quality wine paired with exceptional tasting food.

2 of us got dinner here.Got the flat iron steak and braised short rib. Great meals, very flavourful, the scallops as a side with the steak was very delicious! And the green peppercorn sauce hit just right with the steak and mashed potatoes!!Tried the sticky pudding dessert instead of the normal tiramisu and was very impressed with the flavour, good spot for a fancy dinner, and the waitress was so engaging and helpful, would recommend the place to others!

Overall a pretty good experience. I was kinda surprised with the stairway entryway which was super unique but I wouldn't want to navigate it after a bunch of drinks. Delicious apps, and main meals including Alberta Premium Beef Steaks. Rustic wood interior, kinda reminds of the Old West with updated bar, with many beer taps and TVs to watch the games. Server was busy talking to another table of her friends and neglected to pay attention to the other tables she had and this was a turn off and would have been a 5 star rating. Overall a very great atmosphere. The noodle and shrimp dishes were great.

Overall a very nice restaurant. Would return on special occasions. Tonnes of room and nooks and rooms to hideaway in or nice patio overlooking Stephen Ave if you prefer to people watch. The happy hour food and Price's was lovely and well presented. The staff were extremely friendly and helpfulFood was excellent and the beer menu had a nice mix of options.Negatives - Drinks were really slow.. really really slow. The menu was incredibly confusing and not well laid out. There were several different menus for drinks food lunch dinner, etc... ( Keep it simple!) The info on happy hour was hard to find online. The menu online didn't match the paper copies for certain items and pricing was unclear. While there was some info on the building itself, It would have been nice to have more history / old photos of Stephen Ave or the hotel in the menu to showcase how beautiful the setting is. It's definitely an underrated gem in Calgary.

Murrieta’s is a lovely venue on Stephen Ave for delicious food. Josh handled our dinner service; he was friendly, attentive and efficient! We shared the calamari, prosciutto cotto pizza and ricotta gnocchi pasta. I highly recommend coming here if you are in the area.
