Ontario Teachers Insurance Plan (OTIP)

Catherine was exceptionally helpful and made sure that the home and property insurance policy was cheaper and offered more services than my previous insurance provider.

RTIP always answers my concerns/questions immediately.I waited less than a minute for a live voice after being directed by an automated voice.The young lady was knowledgeable and polite.Very impressed….once again

I've been with OTIP for 8 years now. I’m extremely satisfied with there services. Everytime I call the representatives are helpful and kind. They go above and beyond to help me out. I highly recommend them as I have great experience with them.

We have had a very negative experience with this company . The policies are not clear and seem to be on a need to know basis.There was a lapse in a time period where my spouse came off maternity leave. We called to ask what the next steps were and were provided with what the cost of the benefits would be and that was the only information provided to us.We did not receive an email to re-enroll until 3 months after the board paid benefit plan time period was over.We then enrolled in the benefits. A few months later we received notice that we needed to pay for the time period that we were not originally enrolled for. When we inquired why they said that was their company policy. When we asked why we were not told of this policy when we called originally they said my spouse should have asked.Why would the full policy not be explained so that customers are fully informed? It’s really shady and we are very disappointed that for such a large federation this is the only benefit company option.

The customer service person I spoke to was excellent and had a lovely telephone manner. She knew immediately what my problem was and offered to guide me through the process online. She never rushed me and was very pleasant to talk to.Actually I always find the people who deal with the phone calls at Otip are pleasant to deal with and if they don’t know the answer, they are quick to get help.Good job Otip.

OTIP is very shady company that only cares about making money; unfortunately teachers have no option but go with this company. Worst insurance company ever!Stay away and go to reputatable insurance companies if you have that option. I HAD much better experience with other big or small insurance companies.Its unbelievable they get 4.7. The reviews are fake ? Well it's not that hard to jire people boost their rating.

OTIP is a very comprehensive organization, so much so that I was initially concerned about how to work through the website. However, in the mere two years that I have been with OTIP, I have found their front line service staff to be incredibly competent, professional and supportive. My needs have almost always been met within minutes of calling, whether they are related to health or auto insurance needs. Staff have assisted me going through the website to find what I needed to do as well as provided me with instructions on how to work with a health care provider to ensure that I obtain what OTIP needs to process a claim. It doesn't hurt that the premiums are the best I have found. Doesn't get much better than that.

I had trouble signing in to my account so I called OTIP. It was late in the evening and I thought I would get a call back during office hours or leave a message response. Thank goodness I didn't experience either of those, an agent answered the call immediately and remedied my issue. She even offered to stay on the line while I tried to sign in in case I needed more support. Great customer service!

My representative, Greg, was knowledgeable and helpful and was able to handle my request quickly and efficiently. In addition, he called me back on my cell phone an hour later to let me know that the changes to my policy had been completed. Greg was outstanding!

I have just switched to OTIP after 25 years with another insurance carrier. Our rates went up exponentially with no claims for our home and auto. I decided to explore other options and was immediately impressed with the professionalism, knowledge and honesty of the customer service representative. I feel extremely confident and happy with our choice to leave our last carrier and join the OTIP group.
