Was pretty excited to try this place as it was highly recommended by my friends that live in Calgary… Disappointed would be an understatement.Ordered the Hainanese chicken and it felt like chicken scraps. Came with 7 pieces of “chicken”. More bone than actual meat and being Chinese you know eating anything with the number 7 is unlucky (meaning death in the family). Chicken tasted ok but the rice was abysmal. No flavour and felt super dry. Perhaps I ordered the wrong item but it was on a little menu as if it were the special or chefs recommendation.Also ordered the century egg and pot congee. Absolutely no flavour at all. Did not think you could mess up congee.Would advise staying away from this place.

Average!! If you want to have chinese food with affordable price, recommend this place. If you're looking for decent chinese food, well, I'm not sure.1. Beef ball noodle in soupFishy taste of the soup made me uncomfortable. Noodle's okay. Beef ball as others2. Chef's special stir fried chicken with sweet&chili sauceLoved it! Crispy and sweet! Yummm:p But not spicy at all. you would add more chili sauce on the table.

Feb 17, 2023Classic and consistently delicious Hong Kong style cafe ( cha chan teng) fare. Tonight we ordered the curry rice set and the chicken, shiitake mushroom & Chinese sausage claypot rice.The curry set includes a choice of soup. I chose the HK borscht, filled with carrots, celery, potato, cabbage and beef in a rich tomato broth. The curry eefc flavorful with tender beef chunks and russet potatoes.The claypot rice set includes a choice of soup and blanched lettuce. The rice is cooked to produce that caramelized crispy bottom. The meat and mushroom topping were on point: tender chicken, fragrant mushrooms and sweet sausage.Service is usually very fast. The claypot rice required about 25 minutes (cooked to order).Servers are very busy, but efficient!Ambiance is similar to a lively cafeteria.I really like this place.

Been here since moving to Alberta. Very good restaurant with Hong Kong styled cafe food. From traditional Hong Kong breakfast to afternoon tea to dinner plates, all tastes amazing. Might be hard to find parking on the street where you could go for James Short Parkade.

During peak meal times this place is busy and usually requires quite a wait, but the servers do their best to be quick and seat you ASAP. I love their baked rice, and how many baked rice options they have. If you like your milk tea sweetened you'll have to add your own sugar, unlike other Taste of Asia places like Pebble Street, they don't sweeten their milk tea. It's been a long time since I ordered from here. Most recently I ordered through Skip and got a classic comfort food-chicken egg corn soup. I ordered a small but the portion was more than enough!! I was really happy with it and it hit the spot.

We walked to Chinatown and ordered HK Style Coffee, Chinese donuts, HK Style Congee and shredded pork Chow Mein. On a road trip nothing beats some chinese comfort food to keep you grounded. The congee was the right consistency. The ingredients flavorful. The donut was fresh. The chow mein perfectly crunchy and crisp. Definitely one of the best chinese restaurants in Chinatown. Comparable to the best noodle houses in Vancouver/Richmond.

Good place to taste Chinese cuisine. They serve a really huge portions, i couldn't finished it by my own. The price is low. It was the bit too loud in the dinning area.

Huge portions and very filling. Would give this place 6 out of 5 stars if i could! Super busy which is always a good sign. Ordered the Portuguese baked chicken and the seafood and vegetable noodles with cream sauce which was very good.
