Gord's Electric

We hired an electrician to install 4 new smoke detectors 2.5 years ago. The one on the main level started chirping (it wasn't a battery issue), so the manufacturer sent us a replacement, had it installed and it too started chirping less than a year later (again, not a battery issue). Concerned about what was going on, I called Gord's Electric and Scotty came by a few days later. Thank God we called him, there were some serious and dangerous wiring issues that he found and fixed. We could have lost our home, or worse!!! Scotty will be our electrician from now on!!!

Excellent service from beginning to end. This is a follow up to my previous service with Gord’s Electric. The first call was to inspect the wiring for my doorbell. It had not worked for some years.The service was fast and efficient and cost effective. A few days later, I decided to upgrade my doorbell. I am not good with anything mechanical and even when the instructions say easy to install, they are not talking to me. I decided to call Gord’s electric service to do the installation. Scott returned to install my new door bell. Again he arrived on time and sent me a text to let me know his arrival. When the service was completed, Scott added the service to the original call. This greatly reduced the cost. He said that he was a neighbourhood guy and worked hard to retain his clients and keep them happy. This is the kind of good old fashion service that we don’t always see. Again, I would easily recommend this company.

Needed electrical removed from my shed. Was done by the previous homeowner and was not legal at all. He took the time to explain and show me what was wrong, and how he was going to fix it. He got rid of it and it was done fast, and professionally. Would highly recommend their services. I will be using their services again in the future when I need more electrical work done.

Scott is an absolute pro. Over delivers on services, reasonably priced and extremely reliable. I had him do a pretty major project in my house 4 years ago, and when we discovered a recent wiring issue in our kitchen he was my first call, was able to help me within 24 hours and not only fixed the issue but provided some knowledge to prevent future issues from cropping up. We wanted to transform our single car garage into an art studio for my wife and knew we would need some upgraded lighting, new outlets, and a heater for the cold months. We contacted Gord's Electric for a consultation and Scotty came out to evaluate the job for us. He provided us with some excellent recommendations and designed the lighting layout for maximum coverage and uniformity. Scotty offered several options for the LED lighting, but highly recommended the neutral tint of 4000K to ensure the lights didn't influence the appearance of the paintings. He installed a sub-panel to provide sufficient power for the heater, new 20A outlets to handle the increased load of any tools we needed, and dimmers for the studio lighting. We ended up expanding the scope of the project to include weatherproof outdoor outlets for Christmas lights. Scotty worked with our budget, timeline, and availability, and he was even happy to indulge my curiosity and explain everything while he worked. He has an outstanding attention to detail and we are beyond thrilled with the quality of his work! It was an absolute pleasure to meet and work" with Scotty

It was Christmas day, and we had no furnace. The fuse for the furnace kept blowing. I contacted Scotty for Gord’s electric, and he said he could manage a service call. The fuse panel had started to burn up, and needed replacing. So he did some circuit juggling, and got the furnace up and running until we could replace the panel. Subsequently, he replaced the panel with a new Siemens panel, and added surge protection to protect all of our household electronics. I will use Gord’s Electric in the future, and recommend them for quality service.

I used Gord's Electric services to update some basement light fixtures. I was very happy with the work. Scotty responded quickly, did excellent work and completed the job in a day. I would highly recommend him.

Scott is professional, fair and very knowledgeable. if you want a real electrician, that is by the book and will give you peace of mind that you electrical are in good standing, give him a call.

I've used Gord's Electric twice in a matter of 3 months. Once to switch light switches and install new fixtures to the basement. Second time to install 2 new light fixtures inside our small Kitchen and Dining Room. Very detailed work. Great service. Would highly recommend.

We've used Gord's Electric twice now and have been very satisfied both times. They will take the time to explain what they are looking for, why it is (or could) cause problems, and a resolution to fix the problem(s). When we experienced a blown panel, they were here later the same day to save the day. Highly recommend!
