Amazing customer service and very affordable prices! I brought in a silver medallion that needed some work and when I picked it up I barely recognized it! Gorgeous and shined I’ll never go anywhere else for any of my jewelry needs. Truly beautiful craftsmanship.

I am fairly patient, and also quite knowledgeable when it comes to making, and repairing jewelry and was looking to start a new relationship with a local goldsmith. Unfortunately I cannot recommend Guildford Goldsmiths as they are overpriced, do poor work and possibly dishonest.1. I took a ring to be repaired and for some reason, they plated the entire top of the ring in white gold. When I bought it, just the Medusa face was white, it came back with the entire top white gold. Apparently his wife just decided to do it. I did not ask for it and I am not sure why that happened. Whenever there is a problem David cannot give you answers as he states he has to talk to his wife as she does the work. The work also cost more than was quoted, with no call or request for approval.2. I took a chain to be repaired for some broken links. When I got it back, there were more links broken. I asked what happened and was told that happened when they polished it. That's fine, but why wasn't it repaired? It then came to light nobody bothers to inspect repairs after they are done. First time I have heard that.3. I asked how much to size my ring up 4 sizes. This is always more than going down, as you have to add gold. I was quoted $200 which is insane. When I asked why it was so high, David said his wife informed him it was 18k gold. It is 10k gold, and he even mentioned what I picked the ring up that when his wife previously repaired it, she used 10k and even put a new 10k stamp on it. I had the same work done somewhere else for $90.4. I bought a finding (the metal frame for a stud earring) and had Guildford Goldsmiths set a stone in it. The finding arrives to the store not polished, and nobody noticed. It was just rough metal. I took it to another jeweler in Maple Ridge, and they took one look at it and polished it for me, for free.I have had to trouble finding a local goldsmith in the past, this is one of my first experiences with dishonesty and shoddy workmanship. I get better pricing going to downtown Vancouver, or out to Maple Ridge than from this small shop in Surrey.I would avoid trusting purchases or repairs with this goldsmith"."

Beware. David the owner is a thief. I had done business with david for over 10 years before this. He worked on all my family jewelry. I brought my necklace and bracelet in to be cleaned and rhodium plated. I came back a month later to checkup on progress. He said his employee hanna has it and has left the country. He didnt attempt to resolve the theft. I've spent years trying to have david repay or replace the jewelry but he is not a man of integrity and did nothing. Warning don't do business with David. You will get ripped off too!!

If you want to buy, or need ANY Jewelry repair (including Watches, I get mine done there!) David is and should be your choice- he is BY FAR the most honest and trustworthy man in the business, and friendly!! Anytime I've messed up and broke an item playing sports and think it is beyond repair, he has proven me wrong and fixed it in record time...
