Absolutly Beautiful, so high up.. Rest area is peacefull. You can have a snowball fight till June :) Very, very hard road on brakes (Kootenay and Salmo Passes) It's stunning how much snow is still in these mountains and it's May 17th :)

Bridal Lake Rest Area
Crazy roads, even with chains most large trucks are sliding sideways with their tail halfway into oncoming traffic. The amount of snow this area gets is silly, still 2x height of my subaru forester even after a poor snow winter and a mild week. From Ont, living in Lake Louise, was on a trip to red mtn.

Bridal Lake Rest Area
Can be a nasty hill depending on the load you're carrying or weather. Even in June it can be dense fog/cloud and SNOW ;) Never had an issue yet travelling thru. (knock on wood). one day I might take the time to hike area but overall it's a great picnic/rest area depending on seasonal weather
