I have trained in a few BJJ gyms in the past several years; the instructors and students are always inviting and friendly which seems to be the norm in this amazing sport. Let me assure you that Quantum Jiu-Jitsu is no different. It has become kind of a new home for me. Professor Alexander Mackinnon (Alex), Mike Lorette as well as instructor Scott Cunningham all do an incredible job of teaching and sharing their knowledge of BJJ to eager students of all ages. These high-level instructors always present themselves in a very professional manner and their love for the sport shows.I started BJJ at 40 while recovering from a knee surgery. I immediately fell in love with the sport which helped me get back in shape. After almost 2 years away from BJJ, partially because of COVID and an injury unrelated to BJJ, I’m now 46 and back at it. I now help coach the adolescent program in which both my kids, Vicky (15 years old) and Vincent (12 years old), train and we all love it.I spend a lot of my free time at Quantum Jiu-Jitsu honing my skills. Since I have limited mobility due to old knee injuries, certain techniques may not work so well for me. Alex, Mike and Scott take it as a personal challenge to help make those techniques work for me. They make sure everyone feels welcome, whether they have never done any combat sports or are seasoned veterans of the sport.I have made many friends there and love the camaraderie and class atmosphere. Everyone leaves their ego at the door and help others improve.It doesn't matter what shape you're in, at Quantum Jiu-Jitsu, you are encouraged to go at your own pace and set your own personal goals. Whether you want to get back in shape, learn self-defense or train for BJJ competitions, Quantum Jiu-Jitsu is the place to be.BJJ is the art I'll spend the rest of my life studying.It has positively changed my life in numerous ways and is keeping me in great shape as I grow old :)

I simply cannot say enough good about the team at Quantum Jiu Jitsu. When I joined Quantum, I was truly made to feel like a member of a team.Lessons are broken down into easily digestible steps and concepts with ample time to allow for drilling the skills.As a 51 year old man, I had concerns about my safety, my fitness level, and what I assumed would be a highly competitive environment.I was relieved and excited to find that Professor MacKinnon and all of the coaches at Quantum foster a true team environment with the highest priority being placed upon team member safety and individual-centric progress.I have zero regrets and will be a member for as long as they will have me.

Visiting from out of Province for the Open Mat session this morning, and it was excellent!The coaching was high-level, and everyone was extremely friendly and accommodating!The facility itself is gorgeous and spotless!

Quantum is an amazing place to train, regardless of your skill level (no need to get in shape" before starting!). Beautiful clean space and I've always felt safe with the instructors and with my training partners (not always the case when you're a small female in a male dominated sport

So happy I decided to give Quantum a try. The instructors are awesome to work with and it’s clear they care about your progression. The academy culture is inclusive and encouraging to everyone. There is nothing I’d rather do now on a Friday night than go train with my jiu jitsu family.If you are at all interested in trying the sport please give Quantum a shot. One of the best decisions I have ever made and I plan on training at this academy for years to come.

I have been a member for 4 months now and being a women in a male driven sport I can tell you that I never felt left behind or unwelcomed. Professor Mackinnon and all the coaches are very knowledgable friendly and respectable.
