England & Scotland Heritage June 2022. Our guide, Andrew Speed, and our main driver, Paul Logan, were sensational. Absolute legends. The itinerary covers a lot of ground, so you can see quite a bit in a shorter time, but that is also why the review is only 4 stars.We kept showing up in great cities - Liverpool and Glasgow most notably - with no time to see them. Arriving at 6pm, after all the museums and galleries have closed, and you want to get ready for dinner not a walking tour, is a cruel tease. Also, the tour description mentions Edinburgh for 2 nights with the town of Airth (where the hotel is) in brackets. Airth is in the middle of nowhere, an hour's drive from Edinburgh. If you do not choose the optional evening activities, you have to either remember to get food during the day for a room picnic, or you have to eat at the hotel.If you do this trip, do not opt for the Scottish Show that is offered the first night in Airth. Cheesy and expensive, it was not worth the money or effort.There were many positive aspects, though, besides Andrew and Paul. The coach was comfortable and had a toilet onboard. We saw lots of little places that gave us an idea of what England and Scotland truly are, beyond the big cities. While most of the hotels were 2-star joints like Ibis, they were centrally located, which was great.Optional excursions to Wales and Torphichen in Scotland were terrific.Overall, the trip is good value. Having the bulk of the planning and booking done ahead of time is handy. Research the destinations in advance in order to make the most of your time there, which will usually be an hour.

Loved it! The journey was comfortable

Our tour director Richard and bus driver Paulo were excellent. That’s why I gave 2 stars. The tour itself was not at all what I expected. Hours on a bus. Seeing most sights from a moving bus. Hotels were in poor condition One even had obvious black mold on the walls and ceiling. Hotels were so far from anywhere it really was difficult and sometimes impossible to see any sights. Most tours were an added optional tour at a cost Which was not explained until already on the tour. Food was just awful. Example most lunches were a bag of chips from a rest stop. This is definitely not a company I will ever use in the future and I know for sure this was the consensus of the 37 of us on the tour
