I've had the honour of training under Dave Nixon's guidance for over a decade. In that time I have witnessed (and been the subject of) his highly personalized instruction and guidance. He is a respected leader and cultivates a strong community atmosphere in his dojo. I would highly recommend that anyone looking for a fun and unique fitness experience that generates lifelong results strongly consider Nixon's Martial Arts.

I entered the world of Martial Arts when I was 38 years old. I initially wanted more of a fitness challenge than I was getting at a big box gym. As I progressed from belt level to belt level, I realized this was much more than fitness for me but rather an ongoing improvement of myself - mind, body, spirit. It improved my self-confidence tremendously and helped me in many ways to look at myself and make necessary changes to my life I otherwise would not have been able to make. Mr. Nixon was a huge help in that he continued to challenge me in every way - not providing answers, but helping me to find answers within. He is an extremely gifted Martial Arts instructor for all age levels. I have seen children start out with. him as young as 4 or 5 years old and continue through to Black Belt. To this day, as adults, they keep in touch with Mr. Nixon and myself (who yes, went on to become a 2nd Degree Black Belt under Mr. Nixon's teachings). There are many Martial Arts studios to choose but I can assure you, choosing Nixon's Martial Arts is the best choice for you or your kids. And by the way, the KickFit program is awesome not only for fitness, but learning self-defence moves without even knowing it! Try it and like me, you won't look back. I can't say enough good things about Mr. Nixon. I had the pleasure of having Mr. Nixon as my sensai while I going through testing for both my first and second degree blackbelts. He is a very knowledge sensai and is great at explain the bunkai behind every move you do so that it makes more sense. He is encouraging, tough and fair with all his students. He expects a lot from his students but that only makes us rise to the occasion to become better marital artists.

Mr. Nixon made a huge difference in my life that went beyond just the martial arts. I started training with him when I was 9 years old, and he instilled self-discipline, focus, a strong sense of community, and good fitness habits that still pay dividends 20 years later. Signing up for karate with him was one of the best decisions I ever made!

Mr. Nixon is an experienced instructor and has invested the mainstay of his life studying the martial arts to help his students learn and enjoy its benefits. If you've never tried the martial arts before, it's a rare opportunity to train with an instructor displays great empathy for his students and seeks to help them progress in life. If you already have experience training at another club or dojo, you may find Mr. Nixon's structured and diverse curriculum quite complimentary as includes many skill areas ranging from traditional Karate to sport kickboxing. Amazing! Mr. Nixon has a great sense of humor and makes a lot of movie references on the dojo floor. He's a great instructor and just a good guy in general. The dojo is clean and a good size. It's not too big, but not too small. I highly recommend this dojo!

Nixon’s martial arts is amazing. The Dojo is great - bright, spacious and always clean and tidy. Sensei Dave is incredibly knowledgeable, personable and cares about each and every one is his students. I can’t recommend Nixon’s Martial Arts enough.
