Sour Jo’s Sourdough Bakery
I’ve been dying to visit Sour Jo’s since they opened and finally had the chance today. We tried the sourdough cinnamon buns which were warm and drizzled with icing. They were DELICIOUS. Such a cute little shop full of antiques to drool over and tasty looking jams and relishes to buy. We will definitely be back!

First time here today with high expectations based on feedback from others. We checked their menu on facebook before going so we knew what we wanted from their extensive list. Showed up not long after open to find there was nothing but white bread. The bread itself was pretty terrible, very chewy and no crust. I saw they posted that they were struggling with humidity this week... this is Ontario, if you can't adjust for this then you're not very experienced bakers. Like buying an overpriced loaf from a home baker, except that probably would've been better than what I had.

Just happened to be visiting Cobden on a Sunday, and stumbled across this fantastic sourdough bakery. Berry scones were delicious, and to home a whole wheat sourdough. When we arrived there was a line up. .. ...I knew this place was going to be great!

Wow. Great coffee and the baked goods were fabulous. Lots of parking, couple of large picnic tables with umbrellas. Very clean rest room!Worth the small detour from hwy 17 if you're looking for something other than the regular go to's.

Stopped in on Easter Sunday after having incredible recommendations by family in the area. Even if you aren’t local this place is worth the drive! Lovely people (staff) in a cute spot with beyond delicious baked goods. We suggest the cinnamon buns and tarts! YUM. You won’t be disappointed.

Our first time in yesterday....tried the pizza...A M A Z I N G!!! Also bought the bread pudding but was too full from the pizza to try... but smells and looks fantastic!...going back for bread today :)

Sour Jo’s Sourdough Bakery
They started off strong but our last 4 purchases have not been good. Their classic bread used to be our favorite but now they aren’t the same and sadly their desserts are bland. Their cinnamon raisin bread had no flavour and the raisins were very bitter. We’ve also seen them treat their employees badly in front of customers. It’s sad to see a business go down so quickly.

The most delicious, moist and chewy sourdough bread I've tasted in a long time!! And for a foodie extraordinaire, that is saying something! Come early, those scrumptious things fly off the shelves and get yourself some of their pastries too.. Yum yum yum! You won't regret it!!

We are so happy that our GPS routed us through the main street of Cobden. We had driven Hwy 17 so many times but never realised there is more to Cobden. Stopped at Sour Jo's looking for some pastries and we were absolutely delighted. The scones are fantastic. The breads are amazing. And the grilled cheese sandwiches are nothing short of incredible. They use good-sized slices of sourdough bread and you get a choice of cheeses (cheddar, swiss, brie, etc) and toppings. We chose the swiss with grilled onions, and olives. Just thinking about it makes me hungry again. So delicious. We will be back to try many more items. AND the staff are wonderful, very friendly and helpful. They obviously must love working there. : )

Stopped here to grab lunch while waiting for a minor hockey game to start. Glad we found this gem! They should charge admission to enter the store just to smell the cinnamon buns baking. Not kidding. The bread is outstanding. They have all kinds of baked goods. My girlfriend and I ordered grilled cheese sandwiches which were amazing. Best I’ve ever had. They also serve great coffee. Friendly service as well. Next time I go to Algonquin Park, I’m going to swing by here for a snack and coffee. So, so good.
