I spent one year at ARA before there were review sites, five stars, etc. This review, then, makes up for that earlier lack. First, the locale:Toronto. For any lucky enough to live there, enough said. It is an outstanding city. Second, the instruction is first-rate. Fernando is a master teacher. I was slower than most, but the end-product certainly justified the long and intensive labor. My drawings were just like those on the walls. That year stands out in my mind as an annus mirabilis

Best technical art instruction you can find in Canada. Truly a fantastic experience for an artist in training. The method is solid and every student consistently produces work at the highest level. Patience and hard work really pay off here.

This is what the art world needs. Teaching artist the technical aspect of art, so that they can create something beautiful, meaningful, and beneficial for society.

As some have mentioned, this is a school where you spend a year as a miracle, growing from a basic level to one where you can do with your art what you've always dreamt. It's what everyone speaks of, but no one attains because they don't have the opportunity for proper instruction. When your art teacher separated those famous artists from you and your peers saying it's not attainable by anyone because those famous artists were geniuses and had unattainable talent, she wasn't telling the truth because of ignorance. She didn't know the way those artists were trained and that they were just like us but received the right academic training and were able to develop their talents properly. If you're serious about your art, please give this a shot! World class, amazing facility. Will transform your art, your career, and maybe your life.
