This is my third time going to the emergency ward.. my experiences are as follows:1st time: went at around 11 in the morning, the process was fast and efficient and got to meet the doctor within 3hrs. The problem was that the doctor prescribed me the category of medicine which I am allergic to, even though I had informed him about the same at the start.2nd time: went at around 3 in the afternoon and it wasn’t until 10 at night did I finally got to see the doctor!!! 7hrs!! I sat for 7hrs waiting to see the doctor, was empty stomach cause never thought it would take so much time! AND had a major headache while waiting all those hours! This time the doctor was quite nice and professional!3rd time: I thought it was because I went late in the afternoon last time thus that long wait, hence I went at 8:30 in the morning! I was in pain since last night but didn’t wanna wait for 7 or so hrs again so had to bear with the pain for a night to get here as early as possible. And guess what it’s 1:15 in the afternoon and I’m still waiting to meet the doctor!!I mean what is this? I’m in this awful pain since last night and sitting in an emergency ward for like 4.5 hrs to just see a doctor?! I had to take some talenol medicine to ease my pain… if I had to take this medicine I would rather have stayed home? The nurses were quite rude and too much in a hurry to listen to me in general! Mind you I’m not a native and obviously cannot speak French fluently but I can understand it… and guess what?when I told the nurses “sorry but my French is not fluent…” They seemed frustrated and one said to the other “oh well, you gotta speak English”. RIGHT.AT.MY.FACE! I’m deeply lead down by this treatment.

Long wait times without any way to track your position in line create a terrible waiting experience. If you fall asleep (sleep apnea or narcolepsy) no one will wake you up when it's you turn. The ER can be fast at times (early morning week days) but on this occasion I waited over 5hrs to see a doctor for pneumonia. What really frustrates me is that they didn't give me the right dose on the first visit so I had to comeback a week later!

I've been in Hospitals with my daughter since she's been born. She has a lot of health issue due to her syndrome. Today has been the worst I've ever seen in service. I gave the Hospital 1 star cause we waited 7 hours to be called into a room and waited more than an hour to be seen. I've always been happy with the service and care in the past,I understand that we have to be patience, but this was ridiculous. I'm a patience person. Hope things will change.

Quick processing time each visit ive made (~5 visits) in 3 yrs and friendly/helpful staff.Def less wait time than St Marys, MGH or JGH.Your best bet is having a family doctor otherwise you're the dog chasing their tail; our health care system in a nutshell. To the staff Ive dealt with so far, awesome keep up the good work!

Went into the emergency late afternoon on new years eve and got treatment within 6 hours. Staff was nice, doctors were nice. I'm feeling a lot better! Considering the horror stories you hear these days about wait times, I consider 6 hours to be pretty reasonable. Thanks Verdun Emergency!

Best ER in Montreal; have been to all others in the last two years. Nothing beats this level of affectionate ER nurses (more than one over couple of days). They are all very polite, calm and professional. Most importantly the wait time is very small compared to other big hospitals in Montreal. Hats off to the ER Nurses doing their job in the most effective manner!

No wifi - FYI because you’ll be waiting a long time. (Which is pretty normal at emergency rooms)Front desk dude couldn’t understand English well so I waited in waiting room for 2 hours then came back and another person was behind the desk and told me to go to triage hahahaEverybody was decently nice though. I was in a good mood so nothing really got to me but if you’re in a bad mood you’re going to have a bad time. (Again, normal for waiting rooms haha)

Wife stayed for back problems, she got aired to a ward and the nurses ignored her for 4 hours despite several calls. My wife then decided to go home of her own accord but was told by the attending doctor she was on a psychiatric hold because of suicidal threats. Turns out of wife never made those threats, almost impossible as she was onassive pain meds and slept 20 hrs a day, and was told by the floor doctor the next day that wasn't a thing. So she was detained against her will. Add to that my wife has now gone home and the hospital staff refused to return her Medicare card to her. Negative 3 stars.

Arrived by ambulance at midnight. I had blood tests several times within 90 minutes. Then I was put into ICU for 4 days. Amazing care by overworked nurses, doctors, & all staff. Special thank you to Dr. Proulx who daily visited me, spent time explaining what had happened, answered my questions. A great big THANK YOU to all the staff! You are an amazing group of men & women!
