Drop In Dance Winnipeg

I love this studio and would highly recommend to ANYONE because they offer such a variety of levels and styles and are so inclusive that anyone could find a class that’s a good fit here! A truly supportive environment which can be hard to find in the dance world. Also one of the few options in the city for adults! If you don’t see the style you want on the schedule, the owner is so responsive requests and feedback. Would highly recommend!

Cute studio and nice owner, but I did not have a great experience. The instructor was not very friendly and made it stressful by moving on too quickly. I wasn’t able to make it to one lesson and had to drop out because it was really hard to catch up and the whole thing got too serious.The program teaches you one choreography which I wasn’t a fan of since I was wanting to learn dance techniques. This could have just been the way my instructor taught it though.There’s a no refund policy so I ended up paying over $250 (after taxes) for 3 classes.I recommend taking a drop-in session with the instructor to see if you like their teaching style.

Drop in dance is a safe space for me to express myself through movement and gives me the opportunity to meet supportive, like-minded people. It is an incredibly welcoming studio so if you’ve ever considered taking up dance, this is the place to try it!

Great location, lots of really friendly people and fun place to dance! However, if you’re wanting to excel on your learning and technique I feel there are other studios that can offer that. Classes are fun and filled with positive energy but I think there can be too much distractions.. I see why people want videos but sometimes I feel some classes over do it with custom groups and solos that it takes away from the people there who actually want to learn and then I feel like I paid to watch these people dance not that I want to take away peoples moment to shine but please keep in mind dancing here is not cheap (drop in is $17?) so to be mindful of how we’re utlizing the students time. Programs felt like a drop in class and you didn’t learn technique either and I can tell some teachers favour certain students and always pick the same ones for their video.. I understand wanting to make your instagram look good but that’s not very welcoming for the phrase “dance is a community” or “everyone’s welcome” also I hear some teachers gossiping at the front/common area so please be mindful on maintaining your professionalism. Owner can be quite passive/aggressive “If I don’t record you just know I wouldn’t embrass you” c’mon lol!!! Overall, I would still encourage people to try this place there’s just a few tweaks they can work on :)

I love dancing here! It’s so nice to have the option to take intermediate/advanced level dance classes as most studios only offer beginner programs for adults. I love that there’s a variety of classes and programs offered, including some for kids! The instructors are amazing and make you feel so comfortable and welcome, no matter how much dance experience you have. I would recommend this studio to anyone!

I love dancing and this place is one of the best in the city to learn different styles of dance or rent a studio for dance classes. I love the atmosphere there, the people are very friendly and in all the dance classes you can make friends or have fun there. I'm happy there is a place like this in Winnipeg! Highly recommend visiting it once and then you will love it forever

Excellent instructors. Fun challenging yet do-able choreography. I've done drop in classes for the past 18 months and look forward to every class. I would highly recommend Broadway, Jazz Funk, K-Pop, Salsa, Jazz and Lyrical. I can't comment on the other styles as I haven't tried them yet.

A great and fun place to dance! I feel very safe being myself and learning to dance here. I recommend it to everyone and please keep in mind that it will take time, effort and practice to get skilled in dance movements.

I've always had a fear of dancing with and in front of people. This is the only place where I feel like can! The instructors and owner do a great job of making you feel comfortable and welcome. The different class levels make it easy to stay at the same pace or give yourself a challenge. A great place for dancers of any level.
