My wife and I have been looking for a deck company to tear down the existing walkout deck and build a bigger one. The existing one was great but it was too tiny. National fence and deck stood out from the very first day when Derek and his son came to do his estimate. They were not pushy and gave good suggestions on how it would look like.We took our time to consider and before we agree to engage them. I asked many questions which Derek answered them very promptly and patiently. There were several back and forth emailing and we were happy with the service that they provided even before we engage them.This was not a fly by night deck company, they have been around since the prehistoric times(kidding). They have been around for a long time and their google reviews is a good testament to their good works. Check their social media page for more of their good works.We were told the timeline and it was very accurate. half a day for demolition, one day for the piling and one day to build the deck, one day for the stairs. Sometimes when you engage contractors, you take their timeline with a pinch of salt and it changes along the way due to unforeseen circumstances. Not with National deck and fence, they were solid with what they said. Derek also came in to check on the deck periodically during the entire construction. The crew was clean with their work and they did not make a mess, it is almost that the deck magically appeared.There was also no need for owners to be present and throughout the entire process, no-one requested to enter the house. Secretly spying through my blinds, I observed that everyone had an idea of what to do and it looks like they have rehearsed a million times.We backed onto a park and half the time, people stopped to take a good look at our deck and quite a number actually asked me about it. So much so, I dropped Derek a text to ask him if he like to put a sign in the lawn or he should just hire me to sit on my deck to answer the questions and promote his service.Good work deserves good reviews and a big shoutout.For anyone that is reading this and interested in getting their deck done with no headaches, tell them that Keith has recommended you so that Derek will take good care of you.

We cannot say enough about how fantastic Derek and his crew were to work with. Our job was delayed multiple times due to our needing to complete renovations on the exterior of our home. Throughout the delays, Derek stayed in touch and made sure his team was available when we were ready to start. When the work started, the team was incredible! They were organized, worked hard, and did an amazing job. They completed the work on time, within budget, and worked with us to make sure all of our needs were met. Our new deck is gorgeous! Wonderful company from start of the job to the end. Estimate was fast, professional, and accurate. We were given an estimated start date and the whole job was completed well before that date arrived. Beautiful work and quick and friendly communication from the owners. Can't recommend them enough.

National Fence & Deck installed a new deck with a privacy arbour, rails and a step. I worked with Derek in the design and he drew up a print. A crew came with the auger and drilled the holes and the crew poured the concrete. When the concrete was set a truck dropped off the treated wood and Derek's crew carried it into the yard and installed the floor joists the first day. The next day the deck was completed. Arbour the next day. The rail one week later. Cleanup and painting the ends and cut portions was completed. My deck looks great and is very private and functional for the placement of the BBQ, smoker and bench swing. Picture frame design looks great. Nicely done Derek and crew. Outstanding experience from start to finish! From the initial planning, through my delays, and finally to the finished project, Derek and his team were amazing to deal with.I had initially short listed National Fence and Deck for my project but had a competitor out to quote first. I was so frustrated with his approach that I cancelled my other estimates and was going to build it myself. After i received a referral to Derek specifically, I called and rescheduled my appointment. He walked me through my options, helped me understand the scope of the project and provided a detailed estimate with various different materials.Once the project was selected, I ran into my own issues and delays getting the back of the house ready, and Derek and his team were amazing with communication, patience and professionalism.
