Bakery on Mavis
Discovered this place by accident - and it was the best discovery! Bought a box of assorted pastries: caramel cheesecake slice, custard tarts, cannollis, and raspberry cake slice. Whole box came to $22. The custard tarts are the best I've ever tasted - flaky, crispy base and creamy custard - baked to perfection. Prices are reasonable for the quality. There is also a sandwich and deli counter, plus freshly baked bread and buns. It does get very busy inside.

I don't even know where to start... was it the 6 minutes I stood at the till waiting to order while being completely ignore? Or was it that my order wasn't started until 13 minutes after I ordered? When exactly was it when I realized the service is absolutely atrocious? They weren't exceptionally busy... just slow. No urgency, no personality, no customer engagement... just completely disconnected from everything around them. Incredibly disappointed in both the quality of the food I received and the lack of service. Definitely won't be back here for their hot plate or sandwiches but their bakery is still great which is why they get 3 stars.

Unfortunately they were out of bifanas so next time. We had the steak sandwich instead…delicious.We then bought Portuguese buns to take home. So fresh and tasty.Why 4 stars? The staff at the food counter were not very friendly. Perhaps they were having a bad day. The staff at the bread counter, however, were great and helpful

I have it 5 stars because the food quality was much better than 4.2 rating the store has. More like a 4.4.We ended up getting fresh Portuguese buns, tarts, Ferraro tarts (which were amazing), almond croissants, and of course, cannolis.The hot table wasn’t open, but I would go back anytime. They also had some great looking cakes.

Recently we decided to buy local even more. Now we buy all our bread for sandwiches, toast, etc. here. Amazing staff with delicious breads. Excellent spot to meet up with friends over coffee and pastries. My wife loves their pastries. Their sweet bread is really good. Fresh local bread - a win win for all.

Was really good! Loved the beautiful European tiles inside! Felt like Positano Italia! Sicilian cannoli's (Pistachio and Mini chocolate chip) were good - creamy, silky filling that I think was marscapone as opposed to a ricotta. Tasty! Paired our desserts with some delicious cappuccinos topped with cocoa and cinnamon. Observed as many customers came in for a variety of cakes, breads, deli items. Obviously this is a popular, well-known place. Their Calabrese bread loaves looked beautiful and only $3/loaf. Will have to come back to try! Thanks for the great service.

I went there first time and tried some bakery items like custard tart, pecan tart, orange muffin and chocolate pastry. I liked it. Nice customer service. The guy who was working as a cashier, was really helpful. Next time will try something different.

Loved this place, relaxing atmosphere and delicious breakfast sandwich, the eggs were perfectly cooked. Americano was good too.Staff was nice.
