Oakwood Resort

This was the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at. Silly string on the walls, the room smelled like a bottle of cologne was dumped on the floor. No water in the vending machine. The front desk said bringing water to the room was not a service they offered. I was also told the cleaning the room was not a service they offered on a 4 night stay. Told to text a number for towels and toilet paper. An unruly group of 12 people making enjoying the pool not possible. All exterior doors unlocked at all times. Just under $1200 for 4 nights and zero service.

Grounds are very nice. Rooms were ok, a little bit dated. Very very disappointed with our meal. It was a work function and we were told it would be an amazing buffet dinner. Very few selections, you could hardly call it a buffet, the chicken was awful, no potatoes, no hot vegetables, no buns or bread and NO DESSERT!!!We were also told there would be a breakfast buffet on the Sunday but no they don't serve breakfast eitherWould probably not go there again

This “resort” is terrible. There is no air conditioning in the hallways. The rooms are dated and gross, my shower had a loud squeaky ring the whole time. It took almost an hour for them to bring us more toilet paper when we needed more! The Wi-Fi wouldn’t even connect or didn’t work half of the time. This place should honestly be closed down if there are this many things wrong.

Went for a work conference. The location is great, you can take a nice walk on the beach or head to the main strip in GB. The room has a musky smell to it. The AC in the room works well but is so loud.

The rooms were a bit dated. There was at least an hour and a half where one restaurant had closed and the other hadn't opened so we couldn't eat. Was hoping to make a purchase at the spa and it was closed too.

More training to staff would be great, when we arrived they didn't let us know about the breakfast schedule, didn't know about the golf instructor (ask the golf shop) and didn't know if there were chairs at the beach.Next day when I asked how to access the hotel beach they asked me if I was staying at the hotel (no, i just walked 500 meters from the road?!?) Then they told me I could use my room key (so why bother asking in the first place) we asked them about things to do around here (didn't know) so.. basically, customer service can be improved. At $350 a night, you'd expect better.

We stayed for a hockey tournament. Sami was amazing helping us get the rooms organized. The property was stunning and huge. Lots to do during your stay everything at your finger tips. Dave pub was great food ans the live music was amazing.Staff were amazing friendly and super accommodating. No issues lots of room to run. Sat and sun buffet was nice and the food was good. Can't wait to stay in the summer time

The rooms are disgusting, very old, smell bad, stains everywhere. No air conditioning in the halls and lobby and the ac in the room was outrageously loud and cold.The chicken meal we had was terrible.Don't believe the positive reviews as this place is the most horrible resort ever.

This resort is on a beautiful property that is well maintained outside. Lots of outdoor seating providing various views of nature & golf course- the hammocks were so relaxing. Golf course was nice. The private beach was amazing, not crowded and the sunset was stunning. One issue we ran into while here was that at Grand Bend Public Beach there was high levels of contamination so swimming was not permitted- the private beach didn't mention this, it is still unclear if the resort private beach is just not tested or if the water was safe to swim. Staff were friendly, however didn't seem overly knowledgeable.. it would have been nice to know about different packages that are offered; such as golf or breakfast that we later found out about.Our room had a very musky smell and was in need of a deep clean. Lots of parking & very close to main attractions in Grand Bend.
