This is the first and only resort I have ever seen that WILL NOT ISSUE A REFUND FOR DEPOSIT under any circumstances. MAKE SURE YOU READ ALL OF THEIR CONDITIONS BEFORE BOOKING. Sometimes things arrive that may change your plans and you have no recourse. I booked for July 1 - 9 and realized the same day as I booked we could not go. I lost my deposit even though I cancelled the same day as the booking.

Pioneer Lodge & Log Cabins
We recently stayed at the Pioneer Lodge with a party of 10. Wonderful to be welcomed by our friendly hosts and treated so nicely. Supper was delicious and served in a beautiful room. The cabins were exactly what we needed after a long hike. Unfortunately the musicians we brought with us weren't that good. We will be back soon. Thank you again.

Pioneer Lodge & Log Cabins
My wife and I were part of a group of 5 couples who stayed at the Pioneer last evening. The food and the food presentation was beyond expectation which we enjoyed in a 5 star dining room. The owners are friendly, courteous and polite. The cabin arrangement with 5 couples sharing 3 cabins worked out to be very convenient. The tranquil setting is perfect for re-charging.

Adam and Amanda are a sweet, energetic young couple. They love to spoil their guests with individual attention and the food that Adam cooks is delicious home cooked food. Amanda makes her own bread and the Newfoundland toutan and molasses is so good!! We plan on visiting here again.

Pioneer Lodge & Log Cabins
We were pleasantly surprised to find the lodge and gains while travelling on motorcycles.We were early greeted by the owner Lutz and made to feel welcome. The cabin was clean and comfortable and after settling in we were able to sit outside in the beautiful quiet surroundings. I would recommend thus stay as a great place for a quiet retreat.

Excellent service, lovely quiet location, great German food!We stayed two nights, and took advantage of the Pioneer Lodge's Romantic getaway" package. We had a wonderful time talking with the owners and their German food was excellent."

We stayed there for a full week with our 4 kids and it was such a wonderful week. The cabins are cozy and the kids enjoyed Daisy the dog that kept us company when we were outside! The food was absolutely delicious. Nothing but great service. We will for sure go back!!!

My partner and I stayed at The Pioneer Lodge this past weekend and were thrilled by how peaceful, quiet, and accommodating our stay was! The food was excellent with a lot of attention to detail, care and love cooked into everything. The rooms were more than sufficient, rustic but that’s what we like. We booked two romantic packages and found two nights with no need to cook or even to pack more than a couple of snacks perfect. Just the right amount of time to explore and relax.
