Sunset Campground

Great campground with fun activities for the kids. Movie night, tie dye night.. there's even Texas holdem night for the adults. The location is so close to everything so within minutes, you're at beaches, Sandspit, Shining waters, the Boardwalk.... it's great.... we'll be back!

Poor customer service. I plan to stay at this campsite for CMBF weekend. I have a medical condition and asked if I could be placed near a washroom facility or equivalent (and I don’t mean to be right beside, but within reasonable walking distance). They basically told me they can’t garuntee I will be close to any. As a health care worker I continue to be disappointed situations similar to mine.

The campsite had decently maintained facilities but the head staff were atrocious, they treated you as if you were crooks trying to screw them out of a dollar. The only reason this campground is still in business is due to the price gouging that occurs during CBMF.

Been coming here for years - we love this campground - campsite was level and perfect, great amenities at this campground - the customer service was a bit lackluster (wanted to stay 3 days and wouldn't allow unless we paid for 4 days ??? Rec hall staff were rude but in fairness they were over run and quite busy - Pool was great - mini golf could use an upgrade - tons of things to do with above average activities- sites were perfect however for either a tent or trailerWill be back because it is our favorite place to stay

Great campground for families,lots of activities throughout the week.Downside of the grounds is layout especially in the 50 amp service area's F and G campsite are horizontal along roadway Witch makes it difficult to place your trailer between two occupied sites as well as the narrow roadway to swing and trailer larger then 25 feet up and down the roadway with trailers and cars parked on corner lots.

Just got back from the weekend from hell.3 kids, Two parents and 48 hours of douche bag parties.How do you expect to pull in families to this camp ground when you have drunk frat kids and loaded red necks SCREAMING and drinking until 4:30AM TWO NIGHTS IN A ROW??????I was blown away at the level of disrespect from other campers. I have heard of people going a bit over the 11PM shut down but 4:30AM???? after several people asked them to shut it down. followed by many more screaming from their sites. All they were given was mockery in return by the drunks.Non of my children slept. The day after, we expected it to be quiet since the mosh pit of rednecks were passed out until 8PM. Nope, sorry. The frat kids kicked in at the prime time of 11am with their screaming version of flip cup, their beyond loud playlist from the all rap 90s and the bright idea to walk all the dirt roads loaded and screaming things none of my kids should hear until they are at least 15. This went on until they left the grounds to go to the bars. it was a very peaceful 2 hours....until they all came stumbling back in.I am completely disgusted with this location. I will not return and will only speak horror of this family friendly" location. I would have stopped for a refund if I wasn't so desperate to forget I was ever there."

The campground itself is massive and the tree coverage is great but management needs to deal with the people blasting music and screaming past quiet time. Around 12:30 some drunk lady was screaming and hollering to the music that was blasting out of her camper. It would also be better if they had bigger and safer fire pits and move the water taps closer in case of emergency.

Beautiful camp ground! My family went for a vacation and had an amazing experience.The pool is amazing too!The kids always go down to the arcade and would go to the park for a long time.1000/10 would definitely come back.

Beautiful campground for trailers and tents alike!They've set the sites into the trees so you have some privacy and it doubles as shelter from the sun! They had tons of family friendly activities, as well as adult events like casino nights.The canteen has everything you need to get set up, even if someone showed up empty handed. They sell everything from Candy and drinks to sleeping bags and tents ranging from 5 to 10 people large.They have multiple water access sites for those who are tenting on non serviced lots and the washrooms are placed so that you don't have to go very fair to reach them.They're smack dab in the middle if Cavendish which makes toristing" easy and accessible!Overall it's a great balance of being in nature and being close enough to everything that you can walk to the grocery store and get it in just a few minutes.Would recommend

Unless you are 18-21 and plan on partying all night, I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS CAMPGROUND. Policies around multiple guests per site and quiet time are not enforced.On our recent trip to the island we stayed at Sunset campground. On the third night we had a group of boys/young adults check in a few sites down. They partied all night. We managed to sleep through most of it only to be awaken at 5am by a couple of them breaking into our zipped screen tent to steal our alcohol. Security was called (alcohol/cooler retrieved) and they were kicked out/banned. Security and the manager handled it well after the fact but it shouldn't have happened in the first place! There were 10 young adults (some underage), 7 vehicles and only 2 tents on two sites. Management and security should haven known this was a recipe for disaster. They apparently stole from several sites that night.We have never had anything like this happen before. Nothing was left out. It was all tucked away from view. They entered our site, 5 feet from where we slept in a tent, unzipped the screen tent and stole from us. It was a very disturbing experience.We were refunded for the stay at check out. (Apparently management made the group of kids pay $60 each to cover our stay and forcing the manager out of bed at 5am) this was just more drama than we were looking for on our little summer getaway.
